Overview
This will provide the best tips to earning the “Over the Rainbow” bonus at the end of each level. To do this, you must shoot all 12 pills at the end of the stage. There are some events that can make this more difficulty, which are good to know so you can get this bonus almost every time.
How to setup for the pills.
I find the best way to setup for this is to pick a spot on the screen that you will automatically move the reticle to when the pills appear. I highly suggest either the lower-right or lower-left corners.
Move along the path of the pills, shooting each one as you pass.
Once you’ve lined your reticle up, now it’s time to shoot along the path of pills, stopping long enough to shoot each one. When first getting used to this, don’t shoot for any of the exta pills that will appear from extra capsules. Your goal is to shoot the 12 in the arch. You will only get the bonus if you shoot the original twelve.
If all goes well, and with some practice, you’ll be able to hit each pill before they despawn.
What to look out for.
As mentioned in the last section, you will only get the bonus if you shoot each of the original 12 pills that appear. Any extras that appear from extra capsules or abilites DO NOT count.
Speaking of abilites, be very careful for any abilities that spawn at the end of the stage. The reason for this is that they’ll shatter into numerous pills. They can not only distract you from the 12 you need to hit, but can also throw them around the screen. If that happens, only luck will allow you to get the bonus.
Practice!
Only with a good amount of practice can you reliably get this bonus, as it takes precision and timing. Keep an eye out for the events that can make your job harder and you’ll be a master shooter, racking up the points in no time!
