Bloons TD 5 Guide

How to setup a late-game defense (Round 86+) for Bloons TD5

How to setup a late-game defense (Round 86+)

Overview

This is NOT a how-to with screenshots and “do this do that”– those are boring and they make you feel like you’re just copying someone else (at least in my opinion). This guide WILL contain information on what happens in later rounds and why it gets hard, even with max temples.

Preparing for late-game (Rounds 86-120)

Late-game requires millions of top dollar cash money for you to be successful.

At first thought, farms seem like a great idea– but they’re not great, in all truth. Because banana farms are round-based, you can only generate $3000 per round per 4/2 farm (which is the better option). At some point after round 85, the rounds get extremely long and farming becomes slower and slower. Secondly, farms are a VERY large tower, making them effectively a waste of space later on.

Farms aren’t an option, but there are still two ways to generate cash. You could either use X/4 Heli pilots or X/4 snipers, but I’d reccomend snipers. Snipers are smaller and always generate cash, and don’t switch between cash and lives. Heli pilots are also bigger than snipers, making them even less effective at getting you that top dollar cash money.

You might be wondering why activated ablities are better than farms, as everyone knows that farms are the best method of generating cash. This is entirely true until you beat round 85. After that, the rounds get longer, leaving more time per round to activate your cash abilities, leaving you with more cash in the end. Some maps can fit 200+ X/4 snipers and a 4/X village to lower the ability cooldown.
Try doing that with farms kappa

Now, since snipers suck at defense late-game, you’ll also want a main defense elsewhere. It doesn’t matter as long as it stops the bloons.

Once you’ve accumulated some top dollar cash money (ranging from 2 million to 10+ million, depending on the map. A max temple is at least 400k, I’d say), you can start building your defense.

Building your defense (end of a round)

Once you’ve got your top dollar cash money, you should build temples. If you don’t know how to build a max temple, go check out a different guide, as this guide doesn’t cover it.

You’ll want to have practiced the art of spacing temples in a grid-like fashion to fit as many as possible. However, don’t EVER upgrade the range when making temples, or you won’t fit as many. The temple upgrade sacrifices everything in the super monkey’s range, not in a set range.

After you’ve got your max temples, you’ll need something to slow down the MOAB-class bloons.

A good choice would be 4/0 snipers and 4/1 snipers. Offset their attack rates so you stun more often.
Another good choice would be an X/4 ninja, as it has an exceptional ability which HALVES the speed of bloons. My final reccomendation would be 4/X bloonchippers, as they can do huge damage to MOAB-class and slow them down while doing it.

Next you’ll want some way speed up the attack of your temples. Perhaps an X/4 village, and a 4/X village to reduce the other village’s cooldown. Maybe you could use an X/4 engineer to overclock your temple. Perhaps both.

You’re pretty much set after this, any room you have left can be used in any way that you choose.

Don’t forget to activate your abilities.
