It helps to reduce the startup time as there are still many bugs in the game, and you will find yourself restarting quite often.Although there are guides out there that teach you how to copy and rename the files needed, in certain versions of Mafia III, you lack the required cine_black_video.bik for copying. Therefore, in this guide, I will make it easy to replace the files by simply downloading the required file.
Step 1: Identify the file you need to replace
There are two versions of file depending on the variant of Mafia III you have and potentially if you have any DLCs installed.
To identify which file you need to change. Go to your Mafia III installation folder.
{steam installation path}steamappscommonMafia IIIsds_retailvideo
See if you have either
_boot_flow_logo.bik
or
_logo_2k_h13_bullet.bik
Step 2: Replace the appropriate file
If you have _boot_flow_logo.bik
1) Download the replacement file from this link [link]
2) Rename the existing _boot_flow_logo.bik to _boot_flow_logo.bik.bak for backup
3) Paste the downloaded file in the {steam installation path}steamappscommonMafia IIIsds_retailvideo directory
If you have _logo_2k_h13_bullet.bik
1) Download the replacement file from this link [link]
2) Rename the existing _logo_2k_h13_bullet.bik to _logo_2k_h13_bullet.bik.bak for backup
3) Paste the downloaded file in the {steam installation path}steamappscommonMafia IIIsds_retailvideo directory
You are done!
You can now launch the game to check if the game launches correctly. If everything goes well, you should skip the intro and jump straight into the actual game loading screen.
