Overview
Normally, to start the game on professional difficulty you have to beat the game first. In this guide, I’ll show you how to install and run a trainer so you can unlock Professional difficulty right at the start of a fresh save. Most people have already beat this game mutiple times across different consoles, and if you’re like me, you probably don’t want to spend many, many hours beating the game just to play through it again on the difficulty you wanted to play it on in the first place. Instructions
Go to your SteamLibrary folder>Steamapps>Common>Resident Evil 4> Bin32, then copy “bio4” EXE. Paste it somewhere safe.

[link]Paste the EXE you just downloaded over your “bio4”. in the Bin32 folder.
Start the trainer.
Start RE4 through Steam.
At the main menu where you can load your save, alt tab to the trainer you opened.
Near the bottom right of the trainer you should find an unchecked box called “unlock stuff”
Check that box, go back into the game, click load game, back out, and you should be able to click “new game” on professional mode!
Go ahead and start a new game. Get to the first save point. Save your game and exit to desktop.
Now go back to your bin32 folder where the “bio4” EXE is, and delete that EXE. Put back in the EXE you copied and put somewhere safe earlier. You should be back on the latest version of the game after doing that.
