How to unlock all monuments in Cities: Skylines [No Mods Guide]

Overview

You unlock Monuments in Cities: Skylines byfirst unlocking Unique Buildings, which once unlocked will carry throughout your other games.I have never done a guide on Steam andthis is my 1st attempt.i had great fun unlocking the monuments in Cities: Skylines, andi finally did it with my 5th city aftermany trial and error.Have fun!

* Updating the guide for the “Doomsday Vault” Monument

Space Elevator

The easiest Monument achievement to unlock once you reach a population milestone of 65000.
You can probably get this achievement while playing the game naturally.

1. Expo Center (Buildable at 6500 population)
   • Build an Unique Building to get the tourists streaming in.
     I suggest the Statue of Shopping for its cheap upkeep.
     
2. Stadium (Buildable at 8500 population)
   • Get any industry started.
     The best is either Farming or Forestry due to
     their lack of pollution and
     low education level of workers needed.

3. Grand Mall (Buildable at 55000 population after New Building: Airport is unlocked)
   • The ultimate transport for getting citizens and tourists in and out of your city!
4. Statue of Wealth (Buildable at 800 population)

   You are unlikely to build this Unique Building straight away at 800 population
   due to its insane cost requirement at that time.

   
   • You need money. Lots of it.
     Play and survive the game long enough on any map and
     the cost should not be an issue.

5. Opera House (Buildable at 4200 population)
   • Once your industry is started, this requirement should not be an issue.
6. Transport Tower (Buildable at 1300 population)
   • Start your public transport system using the Metro instead of the Bus
     to avoid traffic congestion on your road.
     Public transport is one of your main source of income.

Now, you can build this Monument!

Hadron Collider (LHC)

The 2nd Monument achievement i unlocked.

1. Grand Library (Buildable at 4200 population)
   • As stated.
2. Theater of Wonders (Buildable at 8500 population)
   • As stated.
3. Statue of Shopping (Buildable at 800 population)
   • Ensure your Expenses is more than your Income.
4. Aquarium (Buildable at 65000 population)
   • Each Elementary School can house 300 children.
     You need at least 17 Elementary Schools.
     
5. Colossal Oder Offices (Buildable at 2200 population)
   • Build a lot of Elementary Schools, High Schools and Universities.
     Universities use the largest Expenses (Cost: $75,000, Upkeep: $160 per week),
     followed by High Schools (Cost: $24,000, Upkeep: $560 per week),
     then Elementary Schools (Cost: $10,000, Upkeep:S1600 per week).

     Increase your budget for Education to 150% – the maximum possible.

     Check your Education Expenses to determine if you are near your goal.

     
6. Posh Mall (Buildable at 1300 population)
   • This one is hard.

     At such low taxes, your Expenses will be much more than your Income.
     I waited till i had $2.7 million before attempting this achievement, so that
     i did not go bankrupt and lose the game.

Fusion Power Plant

The 3rd Monument achievement i unlocked.
The Unique Building – MAM Modern Art Museum –
is easily unlocked after building the Large Hadron Monument.

1. MAM Modern Art Museum (Buildable at 8500 population)
   • Build your Hadron Collider and watch as
     90% of your population becomes Highly Educated!

     I turned off ALL my Education buildings right after.

2. Tax Office (Buildable at 2200 population)
   • As stated.

     For the 100 MW Power Output requirement,
     wait till you unlock Solar Power Plant; (Population: 17,000)
     Each Solar Power Plant generates 160 MW of power;
     you need at least 7 Solar Power Plants.

     
3. Fountain of Life and Death (Buildable at 1300 population)
   • This should be doable, shortly after, or even before, building a Cemetery.
4. Science Center (Buildable at 6500 population)
   • This should take 5000 times longer to unlock
     compared to the Fountain of Life and Death.
5. Plaza of the Dead (Buildable at 800 population)
   • Build 3 Cemeteries and wait.

     [Deluxe Edition only]

     When 1 cemetery is almost filled up,
     build another till you have about 7, and
     build more then after till you have 7 cemeteries filled up
     to unlock the Unique Building
     – Grand Central Terminal [7 cemeteries filled up]

6. Observatory (Buildable at 4200 population)
   • This is hard.

     You need a large city with more than 1000 Buildings.
     Build a lot of Office Buildings and as little Industrial Buildings as possible.
     Eventually, you will run out of goods to sell in your Commercial Zones.
     Watch as your city gets abandoned.

Medical Center

The 4th Monument achievement i unlocked.
The Unique Building – Oppression Office –
is easily unlocked after building the Large Hadron Monument and
Fusion Nuclear Plant Monument.

1. Oppression Office (Buildable at 4200 population)
   • Build your Hadron Collider and Fusion Nuclear Plant.

     I turned off ALL my Education buildings and Eletricity Buildings right after.

     Apparently, Highly Educated citizens boost Happiness very quickly,
     resulting in a huge influx of new Citizens.
     Do not build any Industrial, Commercial and Office Buildings and
     watch as unemployment skyrockets!

2. Court House (Buildable at 2200 population)
   • SAVE before you do the following
     after unlocking the Oppression Office.
     You are going to destroy your city!

     Turn off all Police Department Buildings while
     your city has > 50% Unemployment Rate.
     Speed up the game and
     watch as your city destroy itself!

3. Sea-and-Sky Scraper (Buildable at 8500 population)
   • As stated.
4. High Interest Tower (Buildable at 6500 population)
   • Take a loan
5. Mall of Moderation (Buildable at 1300 population)
   • Turn off your Landfill Sites.
6. Lazaret Plaza (Buildable at 800 population)
   • Turn off your Healthcare Buildings.

Now, you can build this Monument!

Eden Project

5/6 Unique Buildings here require you to have large areas of a particular zone.
Very time-consuming!
You will need large cities for them.

1. Cathedral of Plentitude (Buildable at 8500 population)
   • As stated.
     All buildings must have been be built and not bulldozed.
2. Friendly Neighborhood Park (Buildable at 1300 population)
   • As stated.
3. Servicing Services Office (Buildable at 6500 population)
   • As stated.
4. Statue of Industry (Buildable at 800 population)
   • As stated.
5. Business Park (Buildable at 4200 population)
   • As stated.
6. Official Park (Buildable at 2200 population)
   • As stated.

Doomsday Vault

This Monument is added in the “Natural Disasters” expansion,
released 29 Nov 2016.

This is the most challenging Monument to unlock;
it requires winning ALL 5 Scenarios that comes with the expansion.

1. Meteorite Park (Buildable at 800 population)
   • As stated.

     Open up the “Landscaping and Disasters” toolbar and fire away!

     
2. Helicopter Park (Buildable at 2200 population)
   • As stated.
3. Disaster Memorial (Buildable at 6500 population)
   • As stated.
4. Pyramid of Safety (Buildable at 4200 population)

5. Sphinx of Scenarios (Buildable at 6500 population)

6. Sparkly Unicorn Rainbow Park (Buildable at 8500 population)
