This is a very short walkthrough for how to make your PC recognize your PS4 controller as an Xbox 360 controller, allowing you to play the game smoothly with your ps4 controller.

This is a short tutorial on how to make your PC recognize your PS4 controller as a Xbox 360 controller for use in Portal Knights.

The Beef
- First off, navigate over to this website[inputmapper.com]and find the download page. Download the latest version of Input Mapper (as of 7/30/2017 it is version 1.6.10).
You will find what you need to download on a page that looks like this:
- Next, go ahead and install, then plug your controller in, and run the program.
- After running the program, my controller was automatically located and converted to an xbox 360 format. If yours does not, try unplugging and plugging back in with the program still running.
If your controller is setup correctly, you should see something like this:
Notice how in the picture above, theres a controller located at the top left of the application. If that’s not there, then you’re probably not connected.
NOTE: It is kind of possible maybe to use bluetooth or wireless connection and still make this work, according to the developers, but I have not been successful. For this reason, I have used a USB connection and it has never failed me.
Finished!
Now you should be able to go ahead and launch up portal knights, and immediately be able to use your PS4 controller in the menu, as well as in game. I have not had any problems as of yet.
I have tested this and it has worked.
