How to use an xbox 360 controller (minor mod)

Overview

How to use an xbox controller w/double action.

Getting the files

Go to “Steam/SteamApps/Common/Half-life 2/hl2/cfg/”

And then copy the “360controller.cfg”, the “360controller-linux.cfg” And the “undo360controller.cfg”
(You can also use any other game that runs on the source engine AND has controller support)

Installing the files

Now in another window go to Steam/SteamApps/Common/Double Action/Dab/Cfg
Now drag & drop the .cfg files from Half-life 2 into the cfg folder.

Setting up the controller

Now plug in your controller and turn on the game.

Everthing should look normal, open the “OPTIONS”.
Now click “mouse” in the options, there should be a few new settings.

Now you set the buttons
(you can do this without the mod but you need the mod for the joysticks and pause button to work)

My personal controller settings

MOVEMENT
Move forward = UP
Weapon aim-in = L shoulder
Jump = A button
Duck = R3

COMBAT
Primary fire = R shoulder
Secondary fire = R trigger
Reload weapon = X button
Stunt = L3
Throw grenade = B button
Activate slow motion = L trigger
Next weapon = Y button
