How to use custom heads for BattleBlock Theater

How to use custom heads

Overview

This guide will show you how to set up your own custom heads in Battleblock Theater.

Adding custom heads to the game

The first thing you’re going to need to do is find the folder to add your custom heads. The folder can be found by going here:

C:Program Files (x86)SteamSteamAppscommonBattleBlock TheaterGameDataUserFaces

In the folder you will find just a text document with instructions on how to add the custom heads. You can add whatever you like as long as you meet the requirments first.

1. The file size must be 128×128 pixels. If the image is larger then just resize the image using Photoshop or paint. Any program is fine as long as it’s the correct size.

2. The file must be a .png file. In Photoshop you can select “Save as” and save it as a .png file. If you don’t have photoshop then just convert the image. You can find some websites that will do this for you.

The game will display up to 60 prisoner heads at a time. If you want to add more then you’re going to have to make room.

After you have the image that you want to use then move the file to folder I mention above to the “UserFaces” section. After you’ve done this go ahead and launch Battleblock Theater again. Once you’re in the game you can change the head from the main menu.

Go to Help & Options. Then select player options. Change the catagory (Square, Cricle, etc.) to the new icon which shows a blueprint. Once there you can now choose from the heads you’ve added.

Enjoy and have fun. Here is an example.
