Campaign Tactic
Both Matchlock units are Available at Mid to Late game,depending on what Faction you’re playing,and how much you research towards the Matchlock Arts.
Matchlock Samurai is the only Samurai unit that you can’t Recruit in one turn,while other Samurai can be recruited in one turn once you have the Master Buildings.
For Upgrades,there’s only 2 Choices:
=Offensive Matchlocks
Make sure to upgrade their Armor,since your Matchlock will always be in trouble from enemy Archers and Cavalry.
How I Feel when one of my matchlocks strays too far from my Yari Ashigarus.
=Defensive Matchlocks
Upgrade their Attacks,thrust me you’ll need it more.
How it feels to have a Full stacks of mostly Matchlocks with Golden Attacks Defending a Castle against 4 Full Stacks.
Battle Tactic
Matchlocks are like those units who are very good when upgraded to their speciality,but these are the most useful tactics I learned:
1. Castle Defender
if you once read on how to use the Naginata Samurai,you know why Matchlocks that are defending castles must have Attack Upgrades,but not only that,Castle Matchlocks are very effective too,I will show you why in these pics.
Red= Accuracy
Pink= Kill zones
Orange= Misses
Shooting from a Even Flat ground
Shooting from a Castle walls or a Hill
2. Battlefield Wallers
if your army stays unmoved for 2 Turns,and are now defending,your matchlock gain the ability to build Bamboo Walls,which acts like a Wall,but missile unit still can shoot through it,plant those walls,but don’t let your matchlocks use them,give them to the Bow Units when the battle starts,while at the same time,try to move your matchlocks with some spear units to flanks the enemy.
Ending
Well,this is the end then.
tune in Next time for the Bow Broddah(Bow Ashigaru,and Bow Samurai)
and Remember,Samurai uses everything if it will make them victorious,trust me,go back in time,and teach them to use Mustard Gas,and I bet they will use it in battle.
