Overview
Hunting DMC Guards for fun or for profit requires only a little bit of P/P; Planning and Preperation.
The Hunt
The best way to kill a DMC guard is through patiently stalking them and waiting for them to show a moment of weakness.
There are numerous skills and items that will help this hunt. Here are just a few.
-Combat skills, particularly Melee and Strong
-Hiding or Tracking, to better stalk them
-Night Vision, either surgical or equipped
-Spear, a broad spear is best, available with Melee skill. You’ll want the spear for it’s range of 4
-Unstoppable, avilable by special circumstances I won’t go into here. This may be the strongest weapon against those delicious DMC Guards.
All of these are optional
First, you need to find DMC Guards, look near DMC (duh).
Track them from a tile or two away till they get near a forest tile, if they come onto your tile and spot you, just offer cease fire and keep tracking them. They won’t agro.
You can either try to sneak onto a forest tile with them, or lay in wait on a tile you think they’ll patrol through. Either way, don’t forget to use the hide button; you don’t want them to see you coming.
In dusk or day, you may need to circle around and break line of sight to get a good sneak on them. Just use hide once you can’t see them anymore, and creep back to the ambush.
Now you’ve entered combat with one or more DMC Guards, but are still unseen by them.
If you are spotted at any point before you actually attack them, just offer cease fire and continue stalking them, they aren’t very responsive to being hunted.
Take cover, and start using “Sneak Towards”
Don’t worry if there is more than one guard, every one will flee from an unseen enemy(you), but the one you are focused on is unlikely to get away. So you’ll be one on one in no time.
If he calls the drone, do a sneaky retreat. There is a good chance his phone has no battery power, so he may not call at all. And even if you are spotted, just keep running and retreating, they don’t seem to persue very far.
Now your prey is using “Blind Retreat” over and over again, and you are closing in.
If you have “Unstoppable” just stay as close to him as possible until the “Exposed Weakness” option appears, it may take a few turns.
Keep stalking him from 0-2 distance away until he trips and falls down, it won’t take long.
Now you strike, keep him stun locked with your spear, don’t use any delaying moves like “Create Obsticle” or “Lure into Trap” that could give him time to get a shot off at you, or worse, call in the drone, and it may put you out of range of a melee strike. Don’t use “Flurry” if you miss, you’ll be a sitting duck. Just keep stabbing away, he’ll go down quick.
And now you have all that tasty loot, probably all at 99% no less! Mazel tov!
Notes
-I don’t advise trying this tactic if you still have “Myopia”, it’ll be too difficult to spot them before they spot you or get away when combat starts. Go ahead and spend that $1000 bucks at Haggarty, you’ll make it all back with your second kill (you’ll want to keep the loot from the first kill)
-I recommend forest because of the low visibility, and high cover. Perhaps rubble would work just as well.
-Rarely, a DMC Guard will come equipped with Night Vision Goggles. You’ll be able to tell because he’ll keep spotting you almost instantly. I recommend finding easier prey. Conversely you can just keep harassing him till the battery dies. But I wouldn’t.
