War Brokers Guide

I just started playing. What do I do? for War Brokers

I just started playing. What do I do?

Overview

This guide serves to help super new players improve on their gameplay. Reading the guide can improve your game sense a lot especially if you’re a newbie!!

Introduction

This guide is for new players and only for newbies, the main focus of this guide is to help you rank-up from 1500 ELO. However, the information provided within this guide can also prove useful for everyone.

A 1500 ELO is considered average and it is the rating you get when you first create an account.

ELO doesn’t stand for anything; it’s actually the last name of the person who created the system. ELO is a system to rate players, based on winning or losing games. We have two ELO ratings: one for kills/deaths, and one for wins/loses of games. Everyone starts out at 1500 ELO, and then goes higher or lower based on these two variables. If you win your ELO will likely go up, and if you lose it will likely go down, both depending on the ELO of the players you are battling. What makes it work is if you’re a good player, and win against a bad player, your ELO will only go up a little or not at all, but if you lose to a bad player your ELO may go down a lot.

Both your end-game Kills ELO and Games ELO are dependent on who was on the other team. Games ELO accounts for everyone on the opposing team, and your Kills ELO accounts only for those that you killed and were killed by.

The games ELO helps balance the teams to help prevent one team from being overpowered. This has the effect of giving a good player a win rate closer to 50%, but they would still be recognized for their greatness by having a higher games ELO.

Improve Aim & Positioning

Aim and Positioning are extremely important in War Brokers, you need to learn how to handle guns, how to properly navigate the map and win gun-fights.

Improving your Aim
  • Focus on improving your aim with a weapon you’re comfortable with. (Preferably SMG/Sniper)
  • Find a sensitivity that you’re comfortable with, lower sensitivity is preferred because of increased accuracy.
  • DISABLE Mouse Acceleration to increase your accuracy.
  • DISABLE VSync because it causes input delay (lag).
  • Always keep your crosshair at neck level, in other words, try to keep your crosshair high at all times.
  • Improve your reflexes, your reaction time is very important in gunfights. However, the person who shoots firsts isn’t always the one who survives. Aim and reflexes should be together.
  • Never aim at ground-level (feet, legs or stomach), if you can’t get headshots easily try to aim at the chest and fire in bursts.
  • Understand the effective range of different weapons and the damage falloff, you’re not likely to win a gunfight at long range against an AK47 with your Shotgun.
  • If you get into a fight with more than a single enemy, always focus on a single one of them. Don’t fire a few shots at each one, killing one of them before dying is better than doing 50 damage to each of them.

A common misconception I’d like to list here. Shooting a grenade mid-air will not detonate it, I have no idea who made this up or why but stop trying to do this please.

Improving your Positioning
  • Proper navigation of map is extremely important
  • Don’t stay in positions for too long. Enemies can gang up on you. This is especially important while sniping
  • You have the fastest movement speed when holding Knife.
  • Listen for ladder climbing sounds. Learn to jump off and knife the person climbing up the ladder.
  • Learn and improve on your parkour skills.
  • Never stay still. Always keep moving. Spam that space bar when you jump into a fire fight.
  • Don’t be too predictable.

Which weapon should I use?

Have a look at this guide that I made earlier.

It also has some general tips on gameplay. Which I have not mentioned here for the sake of making this guide crisp and short. The Aim Theory is a very thorough and detailed guide. As mentioned earlier, this guide aims to help newer players.

Conclusion

As with everything, practice makes perfect. Persistence is the key, keep a sharp mindset and keep trying. If you have found this guide useful, please don’t forget to Rate Up and favourite it.

Good luck and thank you so much for reading my guide!
