Impossible Any% Tech Guide

Overview

Here is a guide to help you when playing my any% custom level. Good luck! Read:

This level is made to be play with the Quality of Life mod. This can be found in Mod Installer.

It is highly recommended that you take every bench, and play this with infinite HP on (in debug mode). Feel free to skip a boss or section that you feel is too hard for you. This is meant to be played for fun.

Now into the tech guide:

Drops:

  • Inventory drops
    • Opening inventory while falling will uncap your fall speed and cancel hard falls. This also allows you stand on mushrooms without bouncing and slide. This works with QoL installed.
  • Dream Nail Drops
    • If you hold dream nail on the same frame you walk off a ledge, you can get similar properties to inventory falling (falling very fast). This is done with the same method as a current patch inventory drop in the vanilla game.

Slides

There are 3 types of slides (technically more, but none are relevant here at all). The more fall speed you have before you hit a slide, the faster it will send you.

  • Inventory Slides:
    • These are the primary types of slides used. If you open your inventory on a slanted surface, it will make you slide until you hit a wall or take damage.
  • Dream Nail Slides
    • Walk off the corner of a slope and press dream nail at the same time (the same way you inventory drop on Current Patch)
  • Hazard Respawn Slides
    • These are only possible when I put a hazard respawn on a slide. Your getting up animation makes you slide/fall fast. (Note: these sometimes do not work if you had your inventory open when hitting the hazards.)

Sticky Ceilings

If you pogo while touching a ceiling, you can stick to it instead of bonking your head and falling. This can be a little janky sometimes.

Dash Canceling

If you dash into a wall, then wall jump while your dash is still going, it will change the direction of your dash, and then give you the upward momentum from the wall jump when the dash is finished.

Spike Tunnels

This is how you do them. Don’t worry! I made nearly all of them very lenient. They may look difficult, but they are actually very easy with a little practice.

Elevator Wall Cling Storage

This level uses wall cling storage which is gained from an elevator to get an extra jump. Here is how to get it:

  • Hold right while dashing into the wall (while moving down)
  • Jump without pressing any direction (while you are still next to the wall. If done too low, you will not get the glitch.)
  • Dash from midair (touching the floor of the elevator after jumping ruins it) without pressing a direction
  • Hold right anytime during the middle of the dash, then wall jump off of the air.
  • If you don’t get it for a while, don’t feel bad. This still takes me a bit. It is a very precise trick. Feel free to use debug to skip this as well. This level is for fun, but go for it if you are up for the challenge.

Airwalk

  • If you dash over an uneven floor, then buffer a jump out of the dash, you can get the airwalk state.
  • Allows you to dash twice, once off the air-floor, then once actually in the air.
  • Your character will do a walking animation while in the air.
  • You have to still be moving up when you perform the first dash
  • You can also just do this by jumping off the uneven ground

Crystals

  • The green ones refresh your dash, the red ones refresh your wings
  • You don’t actually have to have dash or wings in order to use these
  • You can grab the crystal then wait for it to respawn again. This can let you use it twice. (ex. Grabbing a red crystal, then using wings to hit the red crystal again.)
  • You cannot store multiple charges of the same thing

Bindings

Some rooms have bindings, such as you can’t use claw. The only way to know they are there is by finding out you don’t have claw.

True Ending Shade Skip

There is one required shade skip in this level. At Salubra, you need to bench and die on purpose to spawn a shade. Then follow this guide by Emray to do the skip:

If you aren’t able to get it, don’t feel bad. You can use debug to skip it if you get stuck.

Please enjoy!
