Overview
This simple guide will show how improve visual quility, use steam overlay as well as steam controller/configs
Using Steam Overlay, Steam Controller and Community configs
The default game of Tomb Raider: Legend doesn’t support steam overlay and therefor doesn’t support steam controller or screenshots.
Thankfully, this can be circumvented with a rather simple fix.
1. Go to steam and add a non steam game
2. Find your Tomb Raider: Legend exe folder and file and select that
Running the game external allows you to both use steam overlay, as well as properly use the steam controller with user made configs (one of which I have made and should show up on community configs)
Improving visuals (nvidia)
Tomb Raider: Legend doesn’t like forced AA, it messes up the lighting. However forcing dynamic super resolution works fine with no performance impact on a modern rig.
To do this is very simple.
1. Go into Nvida control panal
2. From the sub menu select “Manage 3D settings”
3. Select “DSR – Factors” and put to 1.5X and tick off the higher resolutions you would like.
4. In “DSR Smoothness select 33%”
From the menu in this game, as well as others, you will now have an option to go beyond your native res, improving the visuals.

Another, more noticable effect is HBAO (Horizion Based Ambient Occlusion), this is also very easy to use.
1. Install Nvidia Inspector
2. Next to “Driver version” click the tool icon
3. From the drop down menu at the top, go to the Tomb Raider Legend profile
4. From within it’s menu, under “ambient occlusion compatablity” add “Fable: The Lost Chapters”
5. Scroll down from this to “Ambient Occlusion Setitng” and enable.
6. Just below this, select quility, I recommend “Quility”
7. Done
I’d recommend turning off the in game AA as all it does is blur the textures.
With these two settings the game should look noticeably improved.
