Hi folks hope you are all well. If you love “Stormworks build and rescue” like me and enjoy playing with your friends but have issues with heavy lag spikes and desync then try out this small tip.
Improved Multiplayer Sync & Lag
To put it simply limit the frame rates (FPS) that you and your friends play at. Trying multiple different setting myself and my friend found if we both limited our FPS to the same value it would increased the multiplayer sync dramatically. Because not everyone we play with has the same hardware performance we settled on a sensible 60FPS that was achievable for everyone, as Stormworks is not that demanding.
I believe this may have something to do with the host players client vs simulation speed. Whatever the reason i recommend you try it if you have had trouble as its made the game a much more enjoyable play.
If you are unsure how to limit your FPS download a tool like msi afterburner and be sure to install “RivaTuner statistics” when notified. once installed restart your pc and open Rivatuner statistics in your toolbar and you will see the field “Framerate limit”. Afterburner will work even if your card isnt produced by Msi.
