He and Buck are voiced by the same voice actor.
One of Bomb King’s card, Shock and Awe, is a reference to a military tactic.

Cassie

Cassie’s color scheme was changed in the Closed Beta 0.27 update from green to orange, similar to her Tinder skin. Said skin was replaced with the old color scheme and was renamed to Timber. In the Open Beta 0.40 update, Cassie received a major visual update and her look once again became the Tinder skin. Her older design can be seen here.
One of Cassie’s jokes, “The keep is under siege, we’re fighting an army of goblins and robots, and I have a bow and arrow.”, is a reference to a quote from Hawkeye in the movie Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Cassie is one of the first champions developed in Paladins with Fernando and Barik.
Cassie’s bird companion is named Zigs.
Instead of her current crossbow, Cassie used to have a bow.

Drogoz’s Dreadhunter and Terrormorph skins are references to the movie Alien.

One of Drogoz’s jokes, “I love gold” is a possible reference to the third Austin powers movie.
One of Drogoz’s taunts, “Now I am become death” is a reference to a famous phrase said by Oppenheimer.

Dredge’s squid companion is unofficially named Kevin.
Before the Abyss claimed his soul, his human name was Judd Roberts.
Makoa salvaged his signature anchor from a sunken Dredge’s ship
Dredge makes a cameo appearance with Seris and Raum in the card artwork for Raum’s Sinister Allies.

Imani

Imani believes guns are more primitive than the raw power of elements, suggesting she looks down on anyone who utilizes these weapons.
Imani is the first champion that was released after the fourth talent was abolished.

Kinessa

If you look closely, Kinessa’s Buster Rifle has the phrase “Read owner’s manual before operating” written on it.
Kinessa’s kill taunt to Barik, “You are a sad, strange little man.”, might be a reference to Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story.
Kinessa’s Legendary version of the card Octoppressor is actually useless since it makes the mine target additional 5 players (to a total of 6) and there aren’t 6 opponents in any game mode.

Lian

Lian in Chinese means ”Lotus flower”.
One of Lian’s voice lines,”In this game, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.”, is a reference to Game of Thrones.
The family crest of House Aico is a phoenix. This animal is possibly in the realm, but currently unconfirmed.
Lian’s full name is Lian Amarasi-Marila
One of Goddess Lian’s Joke voice lines, “Confess your sins unto to me, child, and I will absolve you. Flank Pip? Sorry, you’re beyond saving.”, is reference to a joke within the Paladins community poking fun at players who use Pip as a Flank champion as opposed to his intended purpose as a Support champion.
One of Goddess Lian’s Joke voice lines, “I try to be more involved than other deities. Most of them just want to fight each other, or periodically race go-karts.”, is likely a reference to another game by Hi-Rez, SMITE, and a limited time event the game had known as Apollo’s Racer Rumble.

Strix

His semi-automatic pistol resembles the Luger P08 pistol used by Germany during the World Wars I and II.
Strix’s name may have be taken from Strix, an owl of bad omen.
He and Viktor share similar “not afraid” death quotes.
According to the Official Paladins Twitter, Strix fighting against Corvus in Corvus’ Lore video is canon and Strix has “become disillusioned with the Magistrate”.

Tiberius

Tiberius was the first Champion to be released for the year of 2020.
He and Skye share similiar “not like this” death quotes.

Tyra

Tyra in greek means untamed. It also may come from Tyr, the Scandinavian name for the God of Battle
At one point, Viktor and Tyra served in the military together and were friends.
The “Rekt Carbine” is a reference to the NERF series of products.
Tyra’s “Red winter” skin is a reference to Russian winter-wear. A cathedral can be seen in the background of the splash art, further backing up the idea of the skin being Russian themed.

Viktor

His name means “winner” or “conqueror” in Latin.
He and Ruckus are voiced by the same voice actor.
He and Strix share similar “not afraid” death quotes.
One of Viktor’s jokes “I’d love to stay here and talk with you… but I’m not going to.” is a quote from the movie Groundhog Day.
His voice line “(Champions) are made by the paths they choose, not the power they were graced with.” is a quote from the book Everneath, by Brodi Ashton.
Viktor’s Default Skin was reworked on April 26, 2018.

Vivian

The artwork for her card Plans Within Plans shows pictures of Tyra, Buck and Barik.
Vivian’s voice line “Eyes on the prize.” is the same as one of her cards.

Willo

She is 3 years old. The developers have confirmed that this is adult-aged for faeries.
Some of her voice lines imply that she and Grover are friends.
Her voice line “Hey! Listen!” is a reference to the fairy Navi from the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Her ultimate voice line “Reach for the sky!” is a reference to Toy Story.
In one of her Taunt voicelines, she says “My main goal is to blow you up, and then act like I don’t know nobody!”. This is a reference to a popular Vine by RIFF RAFF, of a nearly identical name.
In one of her Death voicelines, she says “It’s just a prank bro.” A reference to a controversial YouTuber, Logan Paul.
