Overview

So. You keep shooting your own teammates because your such a filthy casual that you cant tell between those Vietcong ♥♥♥♥♥ and those Capitalist Pigs without the nametag popping up. Well. That means you need to work on your ♥♥♥♥♥♥’ Identificatin’ son! This guide will provide you with the generic basics on how to identify friends from foes, and also how to avoid getting shot by your own damn teammates. You cant go blaming everyone else if you dress up in clothes that make you hard to identify!

Introduction

Welcome to ‘Nam son! Get used to not being able to see tags, boy, cuz’ your ina real war (simulator) now!

A large issue I have come across for new players of the game is the lack of ability to be able to quickly identify friends or foes, hopefully this guide will give away some tips and tricks on how to specifically identify friendly from enemy.

I do recommend new and old players to check this out, plus, any other insights or tips that are (hey thats:) pretty good I’ll add to the tips section.

THIS GUIDE IS A WORK IN PROGRESS AND IS SEEKING COMMUNITY INPUT.

IMPORTANT TIPS

BOONIE HATS:
DONT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WEAR BOONIES HATS!
Boonie Hats are the most difficult hats to actually identify, as both teams have access to the exact same model. The only difference is with the camo, and who has time to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ study that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
IF YOU DONT WANT TO DIE ALL THE TIME TO FRIENDLY- IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED YOU DO NOT WEAR A BOONIE HAT!
They look dumb anyway…

ALWAYS WEAR A SHIRT:
Look, dude. We know you just unlocked Shirtless and want to look less green and Grizzled, but- going Shirtless puts you at risk of being shot down by a friendly. ESPECIALLY, if you go Shirtless without a hat/helmet. OR, Shirtless with a Boonie.

NAMETAGS:
If you scope your gun in the direction of a person and wait for a few seconds either a (default) green arrow will appear over their head, OR, their entire name.
THIS ONLY HAPPENS WITH FRIENDLY. ENEMY PLAYERS NAMES WILL NOT APPEAR.

American G.I Identification

Signals that the person you are looking at is a G.I:

QUICK IDENTIFICATIONS

White Tank-tops:
Some Americans soldiers may be wearing a white tank-top, the bright white tank top is only available to the Americans side- so, if you see white you are most likely looking at an American.

Green Uniforms:

All American troops wear some form of green on them- in contrast to the Vietcongs yellows and browns. If you see green on their uniforms they are most likely an American.

A good way to train your reactions is to think of it like Toy Soldiers, Americans are Green, Vietcong is Tan.

Helmet Shape: American Helmets, although differ in designs are all the same fundamental shape. If you spot a rounded helmet that has a camo tint to it.

Black Skin:
The American faction is the only faction that allows coloured player models if you see the black character model they are an American Soldier.
Here are all the character face models/skin types for comparison:

Red Bandana:
If you see a bright Red bandana they are an American soldier.

Coloured Tattoos:
In contrast to the Vietcongs Tattoos (which are all black), American soldiers can have tattoos that have bright colours on them. This is a good quick identifier if you see a shirtless target.

Feet/Boots: Another good way of identifying someone whilst only getting a look at their legs is if the model’s trousers/pants are tucked in. If the person you are looking at’s trousers are either neatly folded, or tucked into their boots; they are an American Soldier. If the trousers are dangling over their socks, or are rolled anywhere above the thigh- they are VC.
This is a good trick to identifying feet that I’ve used a few times during Skirmish matches on Compound around the MARSOC Barracks around the trucks, so, it’s not as useless as you think.

COMMUNITY TIPS:

Black gun = Americunt. If the gun is black, hold back. If the gun is Wooden, make the shot a goodin’. Most Americans have gay plastic guns that are shaded grey/black. If you see these colours shoot fast.

North Vietnamese PAVN Identification

Signals that the person you are looking at is a Vietcong:

QUICK IDENTIFICATION

YELLOW/BROWN
If you see the colour Yellow or Brown they are a North Vietnamese fight.
The thing with the VC their uniform usually blends in with the bright lighting of maps, so, it can be difficult to make out exactly what you are looking at.

PIT HELMETS
VC helmets are really easy to identify. If the helmet stops around the forehead or has leafs hanging out of it, that means they are VC
