Jurassic Difficulty Guide

Overview

Hi everyone. This has probably been done before but I want to share my tips on how to get 5 stars in under 12 hours on jurassic difficulty challenge mode. First off, some obvious things for the start: 1. First buildings: Expedition center, fossil center and power station. Start expeditions immediately.2. Go for the Triceratops first (breed it with the alt. skin for higher rating).3. Build an exhibit with a hatchery, viewing gallery and a fast food resto as close to each other as possible. Do not power them until you are ready to release your first dino.4. Build the first exhibit (and all following ones except the sauropod exhibit) exactly the size of the viewing area of the viewing gallery. Always try to get 100% dinosaur visibility. 5. Build your first exhibit (Trike, Struthi and Edomto) so it can connect with the Cerato exhibit. You should share the hatchery between the two, because you will not have the cash to build the ACU yet. The way I did it was after releasing my Trike and Struthi I built a fence around the hatchery gate to release the Cerato into its exhibit).6. Do not build at the beginning: ACU, ranger station, research center, gate.7. At the beginning contracts are vital. If, like me the first time, you have contracts at the start you can’t complete, then restart the challenge.General tips for later in the game: 1. Once you built your research center (probably after you have 1+ stars), research dig yield first and fully equip your expedition center with it. Money will be an issue all the way through the game due to the Hammond foundation fee, so get your cash from selling metals. 2. Buy the second dig-team when you can afford it and fully upgrade the fossil center inventory space.3. The first bigger purchase after you released the first 4 species should be a hotel. Don’t forget to leave space for it.4. Build little pockets for guests: the way I arrange my park is to have guest areas connected by monorails, surrounded by exhibits. Guests are concentrated at attractions (viewing galleries) and hotels, so build as tight as you can. If you do it right you only ever need to build one restaurant, one arcade and one clothes shop in each respective guest area. Hotels are important! Build at least one hotel in every guest area. 5. Leave enough space for an ACU in every guest area (in case you don’t have cash to buy them). You will need all carnivores to progress to the next respective star, so be prepared to sedate them as quickly as possible.6. Build the exhibits as small as possible (only as big as the viewing gallery area, exhept for the sauropod exhibit) and plan ahead, which dinosaurs share similar population needs! (f.ex.: put all Ankylosaurids+Nodosaurids together, all Pachycephalosaurids together and all Hadrosaurids together).7. As soon as a storm warning hits, task your ACU(s) to sedate your carnivores immediately. First sedate Raptors, Deinos and Dilos, then Barrys, and after that big carnivores (Rex, Spino…). Medium carnivores (Ceratos, Metris, ..) don’t need to be sedated. 8. Get only 2 Velociraptors and 3 Deinonychuses: they are the most likely to break out (except for the Indos which you shouldn’t breed at all). Double fence their exhibits if possible.9. Build a maximum of 2 hatcheries (the second one is only necessary once you hit 3 stars).10. Don’t bother with contracts once your income from expeditions is stable.11. Once your income is stable, have expeditions running all the time. The latter ¾ of your game will be a race to 100% all genomes. 12. Put off researching fossils (Nodosaurus, Dracorex, etc…) until after you exhausted your digsites at each respective star. That way the shared digsites will be refreshed and you can get more cash from minerals. 13. Research new genetic mods as soon as you can. You should prioritize rating, so go for tooth hardness and the snake first, then go for all the upgrades on the right of your screen that only have one level (crab,Capricorn, hummingbird, etc. ..). 14. Hatcheries should be fully equipped with the highest possible success rate at the time. 15. Diseases are a b*tch. Once a disease is contracted, manually drive there and cure the dinosaur as fast as you can. That’s all I can think of for now. Happy breeding! 😀
