Killing Wyverns for dummies for Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen

Killing Wyverns for dummies

Overview

So you wanna kill those blasted flying electricity rods yes? Well, here’s how you do it.

Introduction

So you want to kill Wyverns, if you are reading this, chances are you have died at least three times at this point or you are simply future proofing your strategy. Within this guide are the following things you will need to have, be, and do. I would have a youtube video to prove the validity of this strategy, however my shadowplay was off when I killed it, I have never turned it off once since. That being said this guide will make killing a Wyvern about as easy for you as killing one of gransoren’s many cows

This guide was made after a hardmode difficulty play using the same technique.

Shopping list

Here’s what you are going to want to purchase or have stocked in your inventory

A decent singlehanded blade; Preferrably dragon’s dogma.

A Bow of almost equivalent status

Liquid Vim: Between 3-6 depending on your blade quality

Optional: Conqueror’s Periapt

Vocation Checklist

You are going to want the following for this strategy to be effective

You need the Assassin vocation, preferrably at max rank, however this strategy can be performed as long as you have gouge.

That being said you are going to also want the following skills enabled

Under Bow: Whatever skill you have that has the highest knockdown, probably mighty bend.

Under Sword: Gouge / Dire Gouge, the only difference this will make is the TTK

Under Augments: This is the tricky part, you are going to want to have Adhesion from Bitterblack, shouldn’t be too hard to get but aggravating all the same due to it being a secret augment.

Pawn Shopping list

You are going to want the following pawns as well in the best case scenario.

Fighter with a form of shield summons

Any Sorceror or Mage that won’t accidentally give you lightning, actually you know what, you can just skip the magic, this guy is weaker to physical dmg.
EDIT: Or you know, keep it so you get the little bit of extra magic damage from a fire/holy buff

A ranger, just a backup incase the Wyvern starts going a little too wild (while you are still riding it).

The Attack Plan

It should be said that you are expected to have pawns with you for this. The technique begins by knocking the Wyvern out of the sky with your aforementioned bow skill. You then must grab onto the Wyvern’s tough hide, with a firm grip of course. Climb onto it’s back and use a liquid vim. Then simply mash Gouge into it’s heart like you’re putting down old yeller, between the tears try not to forget to use more vim to allow your murderous blood lust to continue. Rinse and repeat and then profit.
