'Kingdoms.exe not found' Fix for Total War: MEDIEVAL II - Definitive Edition

‘Kingdoms.exe not found’ Fix

Overview

If you install a mod and dont properly follow the instructions, you will be prompted with “Kingdoms.exe not found” when running from the provided launcher. The fix is simple. You will have a mods folder that looks like this:———————————————————————————————common/ Medieval II Total War/ Mods———————————————————————————————americasbritish_islescrusadesteutonicThird_Age_3 [Whatever mod, likely Third Age or Stainless Steel] ——————————————————————————————-You need to rename ‘americas’ folder (Could be any, but for multiplayer most will choose americas)to: americas1And you need to rename ‘Third_Age_3’ to: americas <—– Exactly that. That way, you can run the game using the americas expansion though the steam version. You have four Mod slots, do the exact same for other mods but with british_isles, crusades or teutonic. There are two other ways of doing this but the one above is the most commonly used.
