Level Up your Steam Profile [Guide]

Overview

I get asked alot how I level up my steam profile and today I’m going to share with you a method which I use to level up my profile fast. But first…why should you care about Leveling Up your Steam Profile…? 1) It will give you the ability to have more friends on steam (Every level gives you +5)2) You can show off your favorite games, badges and screenshots using the Profile Showcase3) Have a higher level than your friends and show off your awesome profile to othersIn this Guide I will show you my method to leveling up your profile.* Prices explained in the guide are based off the Great British Pound, please convert to your currency *

What Is A Profile Showcase?

Everytime your Steam Level reaches a multiple of 10, you recieve a Profile Showcase. There is a maximum of 10 Profile Showcases (Level 160) and they allow you to show off your favorite game, badges, screenshots, achivements and more.

How Much XP Do I Need To Level Up?

The amount of XP needed to level up your Steam Profile depends on the multiple of 10 your profiles level is. From levels 1 to 10, only 100XP Is needed to level up (1 badge). This XP increases by 100XP every 10 levels. An easy way to find that out is to take your number of 10 levels (e.g 30) and multiply that by 10, meaning each level needs 300XP. Alternatively you can refer to the table linked below which shows how much XP is needed per level.

How Can I Earn XP?

1) Game Badges
Game badges can be achived when you own all cards for a game and award you with 100XP. These badges can then be leveled up to a maximum of 5 levels for an extra 100XP

2) Owning Games
The more games you own, the more XP you are awarded. Although you do not recieve a lot of XP from this method, it does sometimes come in handy if your a few XP short of a level.

1-9 games: 100xp and +5xp per game
10-24 games: 150xp and +3.33xp per game
25-49 games: 150xp and +2xp per game
50-99 games: 175xp and +1.5xp per game
100-499 games: 250xp and +0.75xp per game
500-2000+ games: Only +1xp per game

3) Other Ways
With each year you grow older so does your steam profile, you are awarded a ‘Years Of Service’ badge which is worth 50XP per years of your profile. You are also awarded badges for participating in the Steam Sales.

My Method – Games You Own

1) If you have card drops remaining then use a tool called Idle Master. This tool plays the games in the background for you which eventually drops the cards. I have been using this tool for a while now and have not been banned, but it is advised you do not attempt to join a VAC protected server (Nearly every online server) while running this tool. If you don’t then there is no way you can be banned, Here is where to download Idle Master: [link].

2) Once you no longer have any card drops left, purchase the rest of the cards. This can be done easily by adding funds to your steam account (£4 minimum in the UK). Most cards cost 7p, with some costing 3p. On average badges have cost me 45p.

3) Once you have all cards for that game, craft the game badge. This will award you with 100XP, a profile background, emoticon and sometimes discounts for other games. If you don’t need or want the items you recieve, simply craft them into gems which can be later used to create a booster pack. If you recieve a discount you can either trade this for other cards or use it to buy other games which have trading cards for nearly nothing (I have bought 6 games for £1 doing this).

4) Repeat the process for any other games you own. I generally do this for all of my games and then come back to level up the badge, saves buying more games.
