Overview
A comprehensive list of those pesky weekly challenges, and hints on how best to complete them
Introduction
On 5th July 2020, Primal Carnage: Extinction experienced a glitch where the weekly challenges reset each time the game restarted. Irritating as this was, it was a perfect opportunity to create a database for these challenges.
Following the Meltdown Update in Summer 2020, the nature of the challenges has now changed. Instead of receiving 1 drop per challenge, one must now complete all 3 challenges to get a drop. As of this writing on 6th July 2020, the devs are planning an overhaul to the challenge system, which I will add in due course.
Also, this is not yet a comprehensive list, and do please let me know if there are any challenges I have missed, as well as hints on how best to achieve them.
Note that none of these can be completed on Free Roam. With one exception (see below), all these challenges must be completed on Capture the Egg (CTE), Get to the Chopper (GTTC) or Team Death Match (TDM) modes. Also, while the challenges can be completed and items unlocked on private LAN servers, those challenges completed on personal servers most likely will not count towards the ‘Challenge Champion’ achievement.

Additional Hints (if applicable)
Baby Snatcher
Humans: Capture 25 Eggs in CTE
This is by far the easiest challenge to complete, as it can be done on a private LAN server. Simply click ‘Multiplayer’, then go to ‘Host Game’, select ‘Capture The Egg’, set game to LAN and play 2 rounds.
Beast Mode
Cerato: Kill 5 Humans while under the influence of your roar
The Cerato has a slightly different animation while its roar buff is active, holding its head lower and panting when idle. You can also bite while charging, something that cannot be done while the roar buff is inactive.
Conqueror
Capture 5 objectives in GTTC
As with ‘Baby Snatcher’, this can easily be completed on a private LAN server.
Eggcellent!
Kill 3 enemies in Capture The Egg using the Grenegg
You must play as Pyro to complete this challenge. Go to ‘Customization’, then ‘Pyro’, then ‘Support Item’ and select the Grenegg. The explosive used to be timed, but has been changed to work like an impact grenade.
Giant Slayer
[tdHumans: ]Land the killing shot on 5 Tyrants
I’ll Save You Bro!
Rescue 10 Humans grabbed by a Pteranodon
Size Doesn’t Matter
Kill 15 Dinos with a Pistol
I use the Pyro’s MK Pistol for this, but the Trapper’s Duel Colts and the Commando and Pathfinder’s Deagle will probably work as well.
Tupa Space Program
Ram 20 Humans as Tupa
You do not need to actually make any kills to get this one. You simply need to use your charge attack.
Silver Challenges
Challenge Name

Additional Hints (if applicable)
And Stay Down!
Trap 30 Dinos with the Netgun
At The Buffet
Tyrants: Eat 25 enemies
Clear Skies
Kill 10 Flyers with the Rifle
You will need to play as Scientist to get this one. Complete it 9 times and you’ll unlock the ‘Top Gun’ achievement.
Dinos Together Strong
Get 30 Assists with the Tyrant Roars
Each time you roar as a Tyrant, you give nearby teammates a temporary buff – Rex increases attack, Spino increases defence and Acro heals. You will need to play as any of these three and roar as often as you can, preferably when near lots of teammates.
Eating To Live
Dinos: Kill 10 Humans with a Tyrant Roar Buff active
This is the inverse of ‘Dinos Together Strong’. A small icon will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen whenever you receive a buff. Any of the Tyrants’ buffs will count, although I do not yet know if making one kill with two buffs at the same time will count.
Egging Them On
Kill 25 Dinos with Hand Grenades
I use Pyro’s Impact Grenade for this. I think Commando’s Frag Grenade works too, but I’m not sure. The Grenegg does not count.
Feeling Lucky, Reptile?
Kill 15 Dinos with a Revolver
My guess is that you should use the Trapper’s Duel Colts, but I haven’t tried it yet so I don’t know 😛
Going Bowling
Carno: Kill 20 Humans by charging them
You will need to play as Carno for this challenge. Unlike ‘Tupa Space Program’, you must make a kill in order for your charge to count.Luckily, Carno is hideously overpowered at the moment, so this shouldn’t be too tricky.
Good Mother Lizard
Kill 12 Egg Carriers in CTE
Whenever a human enemy has picked up an egg in CTE, they will glow yellow. Killing them also grants extra XP.
Green Fire
Kill 30 Humans with Cryo Acid
Both direct hits and acid pools work for this challenge.
Hold The Fort
Play 3 games of Survival Mode
This is the exception to the must-play-on-CTE-or-GTTC-or-TDM rule mentioned at the start of the guide. However, for that reason, I’m still not yet sure how the challenge works, and it might well be bugged. I shall update when I find out.
Hot Stuff
Burn 40 Dinos to death
You must play as Pyro to achieve this challenge. You must use your flamethrower, but not, tempting as it might be, the chainsaw!
My Little Friend
Kill 10 Tyrants withe the Grenade Launcher
Theoretically, you must play as Commando to achieve this challenge. However, according to some users on Discord, the challenge is currently broken. Sorry about that 🙁
No-Fly Zone
Trap 10 Pteranodons with the Netgun
I’m not sure, but I think you have to kill the netted Ptera yourself as well as net it. Stealing other people’s net- and stun-kills is against the rules on most servers – persistently doing so might result in a ban and will not count towards your challenge.
Playing The Objective
Be Victorious in 10 GTTC Rounds
Confusingly, you have to lose the first round of a GTTC to get this challenge. The second round works as normal, though.
Sharp Shooter
Headshot 15 Dinos
Show Them The World!
Grab 20 Humans as Ptera
Like ‘Tupa Space Program’, you do not need to make kills for this challenge.
Squashed Like A Bug
Trample 15 Humans
You must play as one of the Tyrants (Acro, Spino or Rex) to achieve this challenge.
Static Shock!
Shock 10 Dinos with the Taser
You must also kill the shocked dino to achieve this challenge.
Taking Charge
Carno: Charge 10 Humans that have been Raptor Pounced
Thank You, and Goodnight
Kill 5 Dinos with the Tranquilizer
You must play as Scientist to achieve this challenge. I personally recommend going for the spitters as they have the fewest hitpoints.
The Centurion
Kill 100 Enemies
You can play as any team and any class, just get those kills 😉
The Best Offence
Kill 25 Humans while defending an objective in GTTC
This can be achieved as both human and dinosaur, but must be done within the boundaries of the objective, as marked by red triangles. A word of warning – standing around the objective in GTTC is considered camping, and might result in a ban if done persistently. Wait until the humans have arrived before making your move.
The Perfect Omelette
Win 3 CTE Matches
This might well be the easiest Silver objective, as it can be easily completed on private LAN servers.
Welcome to the Slam
Head-swipe 10 Humans as Carno
This refers to the Carno’s secondary attack.
Whip Master
Cerato: Kill 15 Humans using the Ceratosaurus secondary attack
You Can’t Handle The Tooth
Kill 20 Humans with Dilo Venom
You’ve Been Shanked
Kill 10 Dinos with Melee Weapons
All human knives, including Pathfinder’s Machete, work for this challenge.
Gold Challenges
Challenge Name
Goal
Additional Hints (if applicable)
Acid Burn
Pyro: Kill 10 Dinos with flame-charged acid pools
Ambush Predator
Dilo: Extinguish 10 Dinosaurs using the Dilophosaurus venom spray
There is a several-second cooldown with this ability.
Fire Marshal
Kill 20 Humans with Raptor Pounce
This challenge works with both Novaraptor and Oviraptor.
Fore!
T.Rex: Kill 10 Humans with your Tail Swipe attack
This challenge, along with ‘The Things I’ve Stepped On…’ and ‘Time For Tennis’, is part of a trio of challenges centred on Tyrants’ secondary attacks. The Rex Tail Swipe is the hardest one though, and all I can suggest is practice on a Free Roam server before trying your luck on a public server. Many public servers have rules against playing as Tyrant for more than one consecutive round, so be careful and considerate and change class if asked.
Goal Keeper
Cerato: Kill 30 Humans while defending GTTC control points
Helping Hand
Humans: Resupply team mate ammo 100 times
You must play as Trapper to achieve this challenge. Go to Loadout and select the Ammo, and throw it liberally around as much as you can.
Healing Hands
Heal other Humans 65 times
Same as ‘Helping Hand,’ but as Commando and with the Healthkit.
I Like Farming
Score 20,000 Points
Kills, assists, egg/GTTC captures and throwing Ammo and Healthkits all count towards your score. There used to be an exploit where two commandos would injure and then heal each other. However, the devs have since made it so that humans injuring each other with rockets (‘noobtubing’, as the community calls it) is much more difficult, if not impossible.
I Threw It On The Ground!
Get 30 kills with Throwable Weapons
As far as I know, all throwables apart from Sensor Mines, Flares, Ammo and Healthkits count towards this challenge.
The Things I’ve Stepped On…
Kill 10 Humans with Acro Stomp
See ‘Fore!’
Time For Tennis
Spino: Get 10 kills using your claw swipe attack
See ‘Fore!’
Top of the Food Chain
Be Victorious in 10 TDM rounds
You simply need to be on the winning team and not necessarily at the top of the leaderboard. That said, please do not idle as that’s against the rules and makes you look silly.
Watch Their Back
Save 10 Pounced Teammates
If you receive a message saying “Saviour, 200 XP”, you’re one step closer to completing the challenge.
Conclusion
Once again, please let me know which challenges I have missed, and I would love to hear more hints about how best to finish these challenges. The guide shall be updated as new information about the drop system comes to light, but until then, I hope you all found this useful 🙂
