Making Mods Appear Guide for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Making Mods Appear Guide

Overview

A guide to making the game see mods in three steps.

Overview

This guide was originally made by FakeOfficer.

The reason why the game doesn’t see mods is because there are non-English symbols in your account username on PC. The easiest way to get around this is to create a new account with English name and then play TBOI from it. If for whatever reason you can’t do it, this guide might prove useful to you.

The guide lists steps you need to make to change your account username to English. Perhaps there are faster ways to do it, but this exact method helped me. It requires 2 reboots and about 5 minutes to do.

First Step

Press Win+R or click the Start button and find “Run”. Enter “regedit” in the box.

Second Step

Find “ProfileImagePath” file in “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionProfileList” directory.

Open this file and write any name you want instead of your current username. It must not contain any non-English symbols.

Third Step

Carefully read this step before proceeding further!

Reboot the computer. Upon entering your account, the wallpaper will be set to default and you will be greeted with a message like this. Don’t be afraid, everything will change back to normal once you’re done. Click “Dismiss”.

Find “Users” folder on your computer, then find your username folder. Rename it to whatever you named your account in the previous step. Then, reboot your computer again.

Now your mods will appear in-game.

Afterthought

If you ever find people who can’t make the game see mods – give them a link to this guide to help them. Consider upvoting if this guide helped you.

Consider upvoting the original guide, too. [link]

Thank you, have a nice day!
