Overview
This guide will show you the most effective loadouts and strategies when playing in multiplayer mode.
Assault and Close Range
Assault and Close Range is the backbone of any team. No limits should be put on this.
As stated before, Assault and Close Range make up the whole of your team. If everyone on the other team is say, snipers or “spies” as I call them, You will completely dominate. With a whole team of these guys you can pummel the other guys.
My Basic Assault Class (Requires some DLC)
- M4 Assault Rifle. Good at Mid to Close Range.
- M10 SMG, Can’t be beat by much at close range.
- Molotov, Can smoke enemy snipers out of hiding places.
My Basic Close Range Class
- Stock Shotgun, found in the “Dealer” Stock Class.
- M10 SMG, again I state that it is deadly in close quarters.
- No throwable, because when you are right up in the enemy’s face it won’t be much use. It also weighs you down so why carry something useless that makes you run slower?
When using a shotgun-based class, don’t stick around where you got killed. Get out of there before the reinforcements come.
Sniping
Sniping is generally the most useful way to aid your teammates in long-range maps.
Snipers. You hate them in Call of Duty, yet in Max Payne they are actually bearable.
To have a loadout class that doesn’t make you look like a beginner, Use one of these.
Mid-Range Sniper Class (Good in Bronco Headquarters, Docks, etc.)
- Mini-30 Rifle, Scoped if unlocked yet.
- Pistol of your choice. They are a healthy alternative to snipers rather than the SMG.
- If you have the DLC, Use Molotovs or Bouncing Betties. If not, use Smoke grenades if you have them.
Use this if you have the rockstar pass/most of DLC
Long-Range Sniper
- M24 with Gas Block for lighter weight.
- 1911 Pistols, dual-wield if you have it yet.
- Bouncing Betties. Get into position and put one behind you so enemies don’t sneak up on you while you’re scoped in.
This is my personal Class, and I get a lot of kills with it.
The good thing about snipers is that with powerful enough rifles, You can get an instant kill with a head/face/neck shot even if they are wearing helmets or something like that. They also Insta-kill With body shots to people without any armor on, for the most part.
Check out this dude’s review on the M24 and all its awesomeness. You can see its real power.
Spy and Heavy
This is by far the hardest classes to play so if you’re a beginner don’t try this at home
You will need DLC to effectively play these classes.
Spies and Heavies. The “special” classes of the game. These can be tricky to master, but once you get it down you can be deadly. This requires a whole lotta strategy.
My Basic Spy Class
- Pistol of choice (MUST BE SILENCED!) Take out enemies with stealth.
- No two handed weapons or throwables. The less the enemy knows, the better. If you do have the DLC, use the Night Stick. The Stun Gun, Caddle Prod, and pepper spray are way too heavy.
As the spy, use your speed to youre advantage. Because you are so light you can sprint forever. This does mean you have the least health though, so beware of that. Use bursts like Paranoia, Slippery Character, or stealth ones related to that. Using paranoia will cause you to be less suspected of spy tricks. Use the Balaclava, that is one of the most important parts of spy. You’ll be getting kills often. Sneak around the Enemy’s front line and melee and pistol them to death from behind.
My Basic Heavy Class
- Use the RPG or the rocket launcher from the DLC. Blow some stuff up with it.
- Get the heaviest weapons you can think of as sidearms, like the Bull Revolver and SMG’s.
- Use Grenades. A Classic.
- Wear a Bomb Suit and a Heavy Helmet. We don’t care about weight now because you’re probably way past over already.
As the heavy, stay way behind the front lines. In Hoboken Alleys, camp behind the front lines. Fire death upon the rival gang using Rockets like crazy. Use grenades and charge forward with your secondarys when you’re out of ammo.
Conclusion
All in all, A lot of elements goes into the multiplayer aspect of Max Payne 3 and it is reflected with all the weapons and strategies out there today. This is some of the best information you can get other than a PRIMA Official strategy guide or something like that, but go out there and have some fun waging war against enemy crews.
