Melee fighting: Boxing Zombies. (Easy tricks and stuffs)

Overview

Learn to fight zombies with your fists and big balls, yo!!!

Introduction.

Hello, NMRiH players, new ones and old ones. This is my first guide, hoping to be helpful, to contribute with some tips about fist killing zombies and get the “Bare Knuckle” achievement.

Some about the game to proceed.

First of all, we need to understand some basics:

NMRiH is a survival first-person game that makes you know what real surviving is. Scarce ammonition (except on infinite ones) and a lot of run-and-push is the main strategy for us during most of matches.

We got two game modes: Objective mode and Survival mode.

In objective mode, we need to accomplish some tasks to get out from the place you are, find keys, items, and other sort of. In most (maybe all) of the matches here are about just kill “necessary zombies”, trying to not engage with endless and outnumbering hungry zombies in those big maps.

In survival mode, we must stand and defeat progressively growing zombie waves, periodically waiting for supply drops and not to lose. In this mode is where you might get a chance to practice a very cool sport: Box zombies to death, literally.

Our mission.

Since other melee weapons make stronger damage than fists, and are too useful in classic mode or melee fighting leveling skills, we got a very long achievement to accomplish: Kill 1000 zombies with your manly, full of testosterone, strong, hard and really grown-balls hands, punching them to be the champion of a real melee mastering.

So, let’s get started.

Fists are short-ranged, low-damage, quick-swinging, stamina-savers, honestly-default weapons we will always have. As other melee weapons, you can charge up your weapon by holding M1 a couple seconds to rise the damage done. A big benefit of punching is the kickback: Almost all attacks done with charged fists can knock back zombies, giving you space to brawl, avoiding getting grabbed or receive a counter swing from any dead one, and helping you to charge your next attack. But this is just how it works. To get real ♥♥♥♥ on boxing, you must keep a simple-to-say and harder-to-make combo: Charge your fist, move forward, letting few space between you and zomb, fist and push (just for caution, with V), retreat, repeat the process til’ death.

Of course, that is pretty easy when you are in a considerable wide place, to move around in case of total retreat or fighting more than one.

And yes, that’s the way we go. But there is more.

On infinite ammo servers, people keeps holding on the firearms, explosives and other easy weapons to kill zombies quickly, sometimes making it hard to fist-fight our undead opponent. But also, ironically can make easier to us to kill ’em even with one hit.

How? A couple tricks, both involving the same dinamics.

One, the flare gun. As you be in an infinite ammo server, you don’t have to worry about waste flares to light up zombies. The trick is the fire weaken a lot to our rotting boxbags, helping us to fire them up first, then fist-and-finish.

The same happens when you take to Molly, A.K.A. Molotov bottles. The little difference is than molotovs can light up more zombies at once, and for longer. You throw one to a bunch of those stinky undead ones, set them on fire (like my pants, baby!), and throw quick punch swing after one or two seconds. You can kill them with one hit, making easier to get the hard “Bare Knuckles” achieve.

Additional note: Flare gun and mollys are also helpful for hard melee weapons achievies, like welder or maglite.

Epilogue.

The important thing about boxing zombies is get the medal, get skilled and be the best on hand-to-hand facing, but most important: GET FUN!!!

So yeah, this is just one small guide I made for you, buddies. Excuse any mistake done on my english. Good luck, and good night. 🙂
