Mojo: Hanako 101 – Achievements guide & Mechanics Explained

Overview

Mechanics explained and achievements guide !

Introduction

Hey there fellow players. As a big fan of 2048 games I was eager to try this and in the end I enjoyed it a lot. However initially I really struggled with the game mechanics as either they are pretty poorly explained or I am not that sharp 🙂

Since I believe I am not the only one decided to make a short guide! Enjoy!

Basics

Core game mechanic is pretty well explained in game – you connect two blocks of same number to create a block of higher value. Connecting them will award you points and getting points will allow you to progress into further levels. The highest block you can achieve is ’64’ one. Connecting two of those blocks will award you 128 points and will make both of them disappear. That is generally a good thing as you want to have as much free space as possible and the only way for you to lose is to have every possible tile occupied with no possible connections to be done.

Advanced

So without further ado lets get to the not so well explained part. To make things easier added numbers on the image that I will now refer to

1. Special blocks – here you can see both what power up in going to spawn and in how many moves. 18|25 means that after your 7th move, when the timer would go to 25/25, the special block is going to randomly spawn

Skulls – this block will delete any block he will come into contact with. While generally you want to have less block mind that you will be awarded 0 points for that. So you definitely want to avoid having your big blocks deleted. Best strategy is to try deleting arrow blocks with this

Arrow block – Your nemesis. Since you cannot connect two of them they tend to clog your board and make you lose. However you can connect red arrow block with your ’64’ block. It will also award you quadruple points! Also after this the arrow block will change the color into green. Yes – that means you now can connect ’32’ block with it. All the way to grey box, that will disappear after last connection!

2. Hearts – This is your life pool. Lose them all – lose the game. See the green crosses below skull and arrow timers? They show you stages, that will award you those. If you get completely blocked game will give you your second (and third) chance clearing the board from any number blocks. Remember – the arrow blocks will not be removed!

3. Multipliers – Multipliers will modify your blocks on impact. The number blocks will go up, and the arrow blocks will have their value reduced. x2 will change grey to blue. x3 up to purple and x4 all the way up to brown. See the timer? It changes when you make double (or triple/quadruple) block connections within one move. Making such a move will award you 1 stack, and the block is spawned on the board when the timer hits 5. This resets counter back to 0
