Overview
Some people have reported unable to move their mouse in the Witcher 2. Generally this bug occurs at the main menu, but it can also happen after the tutorial for some. I have searched around on google and compiled a list of things you can do to fix this issue. From what I have seen first hand and secondhand is that the fix is different for everyone. If one solution doesn’t work, try the next one. I don’t know why the bug is doing this in the first place, I just know a few ways on how to fix it.
List of solutions that you can do to fix your mouse not moving
NOTE: After you do each solution, try running the game. If it doesn’t work, move on to the next one. Rinse and repeat. I also have listed them in the easier to hardest order so I reccomend that you start from the top and work your way down to save time and hassle for yourself. If you are unsure how to do something, such as updating your graphics cards, go to google. Google is your friend with nearly any questions that you may have. It’s a lot quicker than having to wait for a response from a friend or something
1.) Verify game cache
2.) Change the language to DE or some other random language(Some people have reported using the Polish language and DE)
3.) Opt out of any beta steam updates.
4.) Update your graphics drivers
5.) Update any “important” windows updates.
6.) Restart your computer.
7.) Re-install the game. Make sure you delete all the content from your directory as Steam sometimes won’t delete everything.
8.) Send in a steam support ticket.
If number 8 fails, which I highly highly doubt, then you should just try again one more time. If that doesn’t work, wait until there is some patch that comes out.
