Overview
This is a FortressCraft guide to show players how to join and host multiplayer games during the beta.
How to opt into the beta
Before you can join or host multiplayer games, you must opt into the multiplayer beta.
First, goto your steam library.
Find FortressCraft in your list and right click -> properties.
Select the Betas tab, click the drop down menu, and select “Multiplayer – MP server and client”. Click close and you’re ready to go! The new version of FortressCraft should start downloading immediately.
Joining a multiplayer game
To join a multiplayer game, open up FortressCraft and at the main menu, press < or click multiplayer.
You can then type in the IP of the server you want to join, IE: 127.0.0.1
Hosting a multiplayer game
To host a multiplayer game, select a world from the menu. Once you have in the world, press the ESC key and select multiplayer.
From there, you can only change the max players but click the “4” and entering a number. The current max should be 99 players. Once you are good, press host game.
You can now view a limited playerlist (and you can ban people from the list) and do other things, such as black list and white list people.
To get back to this menu once you close out of it, press ESC and click multiplayer.
Multiplayer commands
In order to chat in multiplayer, press the enter key to bring up the chat box. If you want to close it after sending your messages, just press enter again.
