Multiplayer PLUS (Mod)

This mod makes it possible to have more than 4 players in a single lobby. When joining or hosting a multiplayer game, there are 16 available player slots. To make the new slots visible, press the TAB key. This allows you to cycle through 4 "slot pages", each holding 4 free slots which can be filled with either bots or real players.

First, download the mod from ModDB and extract it into any directory of your choosing.

The game's assets, such as animations, images, and audio, make up about 650MB and have therefore been omitted from the ZIP file. We NEED them though. So, let's copy some directories.

In your Steam library, select SpeedRunners and click on the "Manage" button with the cog icon. By clicking Manage > Browse local files, the base game directory will open up.

In the base game directory, you should find a directory called Content. If you're using workshop items, there may also be a WorkshopContent directory there. Copy the content directories right into your modded SpeedRunners directory, so that SpeedRunners.exe and Content are at the same place.

I guess so. You can now try launching SpeedRunners.exe from your mod directory. There's a good chance Windows Defender will advise against launching the application. Well, it's a .exe file from the internet. It'd be more surprising if Windows Defender didn't flare up.

One last thing: You may encounter bugs while playing. In that case, my only advice so far is to just restart the game and - if you so choose - let me know in the comments. There might be patches in the future if I get around to debugging.
