Overview
This guide follows insights and behaviors on the Mutants or Cannibals. Ive found out a lot about how they behave, tribes, and varieties of people who want you dead! I am constantly exploring and trying to prove my theories, so this guide will grow!
Tribes
So one thing that may be considered just a game detail is Tribes. I have noticed a distinct difference between the BROWNS and the GREYS. Each Tribe respectivly has Well Fed and Starving variations, with GREYS having more Well Fed and armed men. Each tribe has men and women, who cooperate UNLESS YOU ARE AROUND. GREYS and BROWNS will become aggresive to each other to compete for food. They will also attack the player even more visciously in competition.

A good way to run from a clan war, or to disrupt a village population is to get one cannibal to swing and hit another. This sets off one or more brawls.
Special Mutant Insights
I have noticed there are multiple different types of special mutants, not mentioned. The Blind Ones and Gorgons are some of my new findings.
The Blind Ones are special GREY mutants that stand a head above the player, and travel in packs of 5. I have seen them twice, each time after seeing a malgnient Gorgon roaming around (Legsy). I theorize that these are the grown up fetuses that it produces, outside of a cave system.
I call them The Blind Ones because their eyes. Their eyes are white and pale, and they tend to be highly eratic when the player stands still. Only when I moved around do they get precise. VERY precise.
This may be the new damage system, but combating other Cannibals and Mutants, The Blind Ones seem to have far more noticiable blood and splotching to damage.
I have seen a Gorgon (Legsy) That was far more red in the skin. Perhaps Gorgons and Behemoths can be apart of Tribes as well…
To address a request, Gorgon (Legsy) are larger spawner type enemies that appear well into the game, around Day 15 in the wild, or earlier underground. Above ground, these Mutants posses high strength and are capable of destroying and killing the player alone. It took me around 30 arrows and 3 molotovs to kill one above ground, and much more underground.
They are capable of laying smaller fetus like Mutants that grow up into other Legsy. Be careful.
Ill find pictures for those soon enough.
Explorations
If you find a Totem with a Shark Skull, watch out for Chieftans. Chieftans are Cannibals with arms galore, and a good amount of fight in them to spell death for you quickly.
The only one I found was off the coast of the Tundra, pretty useless area in my exploration, and COLD ARMOUR (Deer Hide) didnt prevent my body from freezing up.
