My Strategy to Winning Grifball for Halo: The Master Chief Collection

My Strategy to Winning Grifball

Overview

This definitely isn’t the best strategy, but I scored goals quite a few times using this method. Just meant to possibly help you win more.

Step 1: Class and Readiness

Choose whatever class has the Gravity Hammer as primary. get hold down the “W” key, and get quickly get ready for the next step.

Step 2: Gravity Hammer Jump

While holding the “W” key (or whatever impractical key you have bound to move forward), guide yourself to the direction of the bomb with the other movement keys, look down, jump, and while airborne, use the gravity hammer. This should make the next step easier.

Step 3: Rush

You should have gotten to the bomb a bit quicker, but don’t stop holding down the forward key. You have to time grabbing the Grifball right. Hold the key that will grab the Grifball right when you get in range, and keep running, pressing the melee key only when you need to. Depending on where the opposing team’s players are positioned, you may need to alter how you get to the goal. The first time I tried this strategy successfully, It wasn’t really a strategy, I just did it quickly, and took the other team by surprise. A few opposing players were in my way, but instead of hitting them, I jumped over them. Trying to melee players in your way can work, but it could also easily get you killed. You should make a straight path to the goal, slowing down can do more harm than good. Once you get to the goal, you have scored.

An Important Thing to Remember

Sometimes, the conditions may not be right to score. You have to be fast, and the enemy can’t be suspecting this strategy. However, even if you don’t score, and I know for some people it is a lot to ask, but show good sportsmanship. This means don’t get angry at your team and then rage quit, possibly making the game less fun with uneven teams. You also need to expect getting team killed. This is Grifball, it was most likely a mistake. Even if your team does win, don’t insult the other team maliciously with insults that aren’t even that good, especially if the rest of the team was earning points, while you didn’t earn any. Who knows, maybe someone will insult back, with an actually good insult while recording the game, and you start screaming in voice chat, leading to you being put in a rage compilation, leaving you humiliated. If you don’t want to be vilified by the community, don’t be an ass. If you have to rage, don’t project your emotions in text or voice chat. It will only lead to your embarrassment. Your score doesn’t matter, but the way you act does. Good luck, and have a nice life.
