New Vegas Quick Start Guide | Windows 10 | 120FPS 120FOV

Overview

Shows essential Mods to fix any stutters, FPS caps or weird engine physics going haywire, so you can at least play the vanilla game with some optional enhancements. I dont show huge overhauls like DUST[www.nexusmods.com] but i do show things like Project Nevada and FO4 quick loot.

THIS GUIDE IS W.I.P

im mostly making this as a reference for myself. If others use it, thats cool too.
Next time i play this game ill update with more things that are suitable for generic play.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PLAYING ON WINDOWS 7 or enabling windows 7 compatibility in properties for the main executable
I made it dual boot on my SSD for WIN 10 for general gaming and WIN 7 for fallout3+NV since win 10 crashes too much for fo3/nv

Mods for performance and stability

From fresh vanilla NV
They are simple drag and drop mods. Still read how to install just in case.

NVSE 5.0b3 – New Vegas Script Extender[nvse.silverlock.org]
extract NVSE archive, get the folder named ”nvse_5_0_beta3”
folder contents goes in the main install folder where the FalloutNV.exe is.

NVTF – New Vegas Tick Fix[www.nexusmods.com]
Allows smooth gameplay and proper uncapped FPS.

NVAC – New Vegas Anti Crash[www.nexusmods.com] Reduces frequency of crashes

OneTweak[www.nexusmods.com] Allows proper borderless windowed.

FNV 4GB Patch[www.nexusmods.com]Allows more than default 2GB virtual space, up to 4GB, good for texture mods.

New Vegas Configurator[www.nexusmods.com] Configure gfx and stuff like the original launcher does plus more

MSI Afterburner & RTSS[www.msi.com] For limiting FPS to 120, 144, 60, 30 etc. Works for any game not just fallout.

You could play with just the above but the more you read and install, the better your game will be !!

Support Framework mods [mod config menu, extra scripting, etc]

INSTALL VORTEX FROM NEXUSMODS [link]

FOMM – Fallout Mod Manager[www.nexusmods.com]

MOD Config Menu[www.nexusmods.com] needs FOMM to install

UIO – User Interface Organizer[www.nexusmods.com]
JIP LN NVSE plugin[www.nexusmods.com]

Quality of Life Mods

Project Nevada[www.nexusmods.com] TONS OF OPTIONS

Lazarus Project[www.nexusmods.com]DOOM style weapon wheel and Fo4 hitmarker plus alot more

The Weapon Mod Menu[www.nexusmods.com] you can remove weapon mods and do other stuff.

Weapon Wheel Mod[www.nexusmods.com] Use mouse wheel to switch weapons and *show stats* [i use it for stats when looking at or switching weps]

*FOV Slider – for all FOV types[www.nexusmods.com] Requires MCM, JIP, and Lutana.

BLIND – Borderlands Inspired Numeric Damage[www.nexusmods.com]Really cool mod

Fallout 4 Loot Menu[www.nexusmods.com] Its badass…needs JIP, UIO and of course NVSE
install Loot Menu first then Install VUI+ if using it

Enhanced Camera[www.nexusmods.com] You can see your body in 1st person.

Cowboy repeater take away intrusive iron sights[www.nexusmods.com]

HUD Mods

Fallout 4 Style HUD Textures[www.nexusmods.com] looks cool with the FO4 Quick loot on. Make sure to get the same cursor color as your hud. Also doesnt work that well with darnified so you have to pick

Darnified UI[drive.google.com] needs NVSE and JIP LN NVSE plugin. Make darnified ui load last in all situations.
Darnified Fonts[drive.google.com] install this after darnified ui so you get the fonts easier than editing ini files.
Mod Config Menu[www.nexusmods.com]Can edit options for mods including darnified ui
MCM DARN Compatible patch[drive.google.com]Install this after mcm and darn ui + fonts

Radar MOD[www.nexusmods.com] Need uHUD

No Blur Pause Menu UI[www.nexusmods.com]

oHUD – One HUD[www.nexusmods.com] has 3 hud mods put together, really customizable.

User interface Organizer[www.nexusmods.com] is an NVSE-powered plugin that is designed to manage and maintain all UI/HUD extensions

MTUI[www.nexusmods.com] I recommend installing Vanilla+
Vanilla UI Plus[www.nexusmods.com]unconsolizes UI while still looking like vanilla, fixes some unintuitive container keybindings.

Graphic and Texture

Weapon Retexture Project[www.nexusmods.com]

NMCs Texture Pack[www.nexusmods.com]

Clarity[www.nexusmods.com] Fixes unnatural filter and color hues

Gameplay Tweaks

Real Recoil[www.nexusmods.com] really works, nevada has a recoil mod implemented and idk which is better or even if they are the same mod lol.

SUPERHOT MOD[www.nexusmods.com] Coolest mod ever, just look at it…

Bullettime[www.nexusmods.com]I LOVE THIS MOD, i prefer 114 version. Slows down time when you push a certain key, itll drain AP or not if you want. PJNevada has this in it, but i like the way its implemented as a standalone and i disable the nevada one

Sprint Mod[www.nexusmods.com] My prefered settings:
set SprintSpeedMultGlob to 3 [normal running speed is 1]
set SprintAPMultglob to 0 [default 2]
SPRINT MOD PERKS

player.addperk xxyyyyyy

Charge! (##025888)
With this perk, you can keep your weapon out while sprinting. Don’t expect to be very accurate while you’re doing this, though.

Tackle (##025889)
Sprint into a hostile enemy (they have to be hostile) to attempt to tackle them. Your strength and unarmed skill will be compared to their strength and endurance, and if you win, they’ll be knocked over. If you lose by too much you might be knocked down yourself, so watch out! Attempting a tackle takes 1/4 of your AP, so don’t waste it all on the way there.

FOV

Open FALLOUT.INI found in C:UsersuserDocumentsMy GamesFalloutNV
At the bottom of the [Display] section add this line if its in the display section:

The below changes how much of your hands and weapons you see in first person. You can find this line near the bottom of the [Display] section.
