Overview
New to this game? Still unsure as to playing this game? This guide will help you out! With this guide, it will help Newbies to become from Zero to “HERO”!
Introduction of Guide
Warning: This guide is mainly filled with words, with only a few pictures and videos. However, the author has tried to make it humourous at the same time. So do appreciate it 🙂
Welcome to my “Newbies’ Guide to No More Room in Hell”! If you are new to this game, this guide will help you out, in order to cope and stay alive throughout your mission/survival.
I am DJ KamBer A.K.A DJ KB, and I will be guiding you as to playing this game, No More Room in Hell!
Reaction when you first spawn
First things first, when you’re in a location, and you see weapons, and guns, and melee weapons… And more guns all over the place, your first reaction, if you’re new to this game, is to go like this:
“HOLY S***T, ALL MINE, THE ITEMS ARE MINE, GO AWAY!”
Now, this behavior is absolutely WRONG! Take note that this isn’t Left 4 Dead 2, where you can get ammo piles and keep reloading non-stop until you run out of magazines, and reload again from the ammo stack again. This game is more realistic, the first game in front of “Killing Floor”.
Then what should I do? If I don’t get every single item in this map, I will DIE!
Firstly, no… You won’t die from not getting items (Unless of course you are using your bare fists to kill, that will give you a high chance to die…)
Second of all, all of the items spawned are not ONLY for you. They are for the rest of the 1-8 players to use, including you. So be a kind Gentleman/Lady and share the items with your teammates.
When you first spawn, your first reaction should be to grab:
1 gun (Pistol preferably)
1 bandage (If possible)
1 Med-Kit (If possible)
1 bottle of Pills (If possible)
1 Walkie-Talkie (Only if you are using Voice chat in Non-Alltalk servers)
1 Melee Weapon
Players MUST take note that having a melee weapon is a MUST! Be it a short-ranged melee or a long-ranged melee, just grab a melee weapon and equip it at all times! (Except when you are in a drastic situation, then you can use your guns)
Attacking a Zombie
Most Newbies in a zombie-survival game will think that aiming the heart/body/legs will kill them quickly/slow them down.
Unfortunately, NO!
Zombies are easily killed/taken down when they are attacked/shot to their heads.
(Hopefully I don’t have to Scientifically explain why)
To kill a zombie, you can first:
1. Charge your melee (Holding down your ATTACK mouse button)
2. Get ready your position
If you are using Method 1:
1. Charge your melee weapon
2. Prepare your position to attack
3. Aim at the zombie’s head
4. Let go of your ATTACK mouse button when you are hugging the zombie
5. Immediately shove the zombie away by pressing V, even if you think you’ve killed the zombie.
If you are using Method 2:
1. Get ready your position
2. Aim for the zombie’s head
3. Press your ATTACK mouse button when you are hugging the zombie
4. Immediately shove the zombie away by pressing V, even if you think you’ve killed the zombie.
Do take note that your loadout/inventory (Press and hold 1) is your dependancy for your Stamina!
If you have too many items in your inventory, your stamina, while attacking the zombie with a melee, will be reduced dramatically, same goes to running.
So try not to bring too many items if you’re going to be melee-ing your way through the map, including ammo boxes!
If you are using your guns to shoot the zombies, the same methods applies from attacking a zombie with your melee weapon.
1. Right click on your gun to focus.
2. Aim for the zombie’s pee… I mean, head.
3. Shoot the zombie’s head
4. Immediately shove the zombie… (I don’t have to repeat right?)
Most Newbies will choose to ignore shoving the zombies because they think one hit to the zombie can instantly kill the zombie.
This should not be the case!
Think of worse-case scenarios, what happens if you’ve missed your attack at the zombie? Are you just going to let the zombie eat you, while you dramatically scream and spam your ATTACK mouse button, saying:
“AHH, OHHH, THAT’S GOOD!”
*No wait, sorry, wrong dialogue!*
… saying:
“AHH! GO AWAY! IM HITTING YOU WITH MY MELEE, WHY AREN’T YOU DYING?!”
Of course not! So don’t be a lazy Cheetah (What?) and just shove the zombie!
Your Character’s Display Status
During the course of surviving, you will notice your screen changing to create a weird background/scene. There are 3 types of scenarios which can get your screen to change.
1. Infection
This is caused by:
– Getting bitten by a zombie
– Getting infected from stepping on water
The cure to this infection:
– Eating pills
(This will temporarily cure your infection)
– Injecting “Gene Therapy”
—————————————————————-
2. Black and White
This is caused by:
– Getting bitten by a zombie
– Getting injured from stepping on water
– Getting Fall/Physical Damage (Eg. Fire)
– Friendly Fire
The cure to remove ‘Black and White’:
– Using First Aid Kits
– Using Health Boxes [By Elysium.Jsh010]
—————————————————————-
3. Bleeding
This is caused by:
– Getting bitten by a zombie
– Getting injured from stepping on water
– Getting Fall/Physical damage (Eg. Fire)
– Friendly Fire
The cure to stop the bleeding:
– Bandages
– First Aid Kits [By ¿Dave.Jsh010.Fennoy?]
Objective or Survival Mode? (Includes Tips)
If you are smart enough to look through the list of maps, you will see 2 types of map names:
1. nmo_
2. nms_
In an Objective Map, you and your teammates are given tasks to complete before proceeding to the rest of the tasks, that will eventually lead you to your Rescue Point.
– There is no time limit for Objective Maps.
– Players are NOT able to respawn after death.
– Helicopters/Supply Drops will NOT be deployed during the mission.
Tips while playing an Objective Map:
– Zombies will keep respawning, even after killing a few. So it is best for you to run out of small areas (Example: The bar in nmo_broadway) if no zombie is blocking the path, before they flood the area
– If you’ve forgotten the task given to you, or you are lost as to finding a certain item, press your C key to display your compass (Which has small arrows that lead you to a certain location/item) and your task/objective
In a Survival Map, you and your teammates are required to stay alive, protecting the Safe Zones from zombies before the Rescue Team arrives after a certain number of waves.
– There is no time limit for Survival Maps.
– Players are able to respawn, ONLY after a wave is completed!
– Helicopters/Supply Drops will be deployed during the mission at certain Wave Intervals.
Tips while playing a Survival Map:
– The next wave will begin if the zombie counter reaches 5. If it is possible, immediately send some people to go and explore the area outside the zones to search for weapons/ammo boxes/etc when there are fewer zombies. (10 zombies are safe enough for your teammates to explore). Return to your safe zones immediately if the Zombie Counter reaches 5!
– It is best for you and your teammates to explore the area outside your Safe Zones at Wave 1!
– Barricading doorways/windows is useful if you want to avoid zombies flooding in your Safe Zones faster.
– Avoid camping in small areas so that you are not easily flooded with zombies.
– ALWAYS have a partner with you if you are exploring outside your Safe Zones (Unless you are confident enough to survive while exploring on your own)
– If you are lucky enough, Flare Guns can help deploy more Supply Crates for you to even create an Amoury in your Safe Zone! To deploy a Helicopter, find a Flare Gun and Flares, aim the flare gun directly at the sky, and shoot. Take note that if there has been already a Supply Crate deployed in the map, you MUST empty it before deploying another Supply Crate! (There can NEVER be 2 Supply Crates in a Survival Map!)
– If you are lost as to finding your Safe Zones, or to help your teammates point out the location of the Supply Crates, press your C key to display the compass! Letters will be shown at your screen to display the location of your Safe Zones.
– FEMA bags, obtainable in rectagular crates with yellow Light-sticks, can help heal your Safe Zones that are lesser than 75%! They are shown as dark green bags with Yellow Light-sticks at the side. Get a FEMA bag from the crates, bring it to the damaged Safe Zone, and drop it on the ground to heal it!
– In most Survival Maps, Health Boxes, shown as rectangular red boxes, are deployed around the map, and these Health Boxes contain 200 HP points for you to heal, in the case of the absense of First Aid Kits. Bring the Health Boxes to the indicated locations (Shadowed Health Boxes or a red rectangular-marked area) to place them and use them!
Other General Tips
You can use the following General tips in either Survival or Objective Maps!
– If you are on high-ground, and you are blocked by zombies standing on low-ground, you can jump on their heads to cross-over! Be careful though! If you are not fast enough to jump over their heads, the zombies can grab you!
– Grenades and Molotovs are useful in the case of an emergency – Use them if there is a crowd of zombies. But watch out for zombies covered in flames, for a few seconds, they are able to become runners, chasing any nearby Survivor and grabbing them!
– Locks can be removed by either hitting or shooting the locks (Highlighted Locks only!) or unweidling it. However, you are required a Wielder to unweild locks. They are located in areas within the map or from Supply Crates. This tip is most useful for Survival maps!
