Overview
For the average couch potato a mouse is out of reach, so full controller support is badly needed – listen devs! This guide gives a workaround that actually works quite well with my current configuration. For anyone unfamiliar with Steam’s built in Big Picture Mode Controller Configurator, this guide will show how to activate controller support for all your games.
1. Open Big Picture Mode*, then Settings
*(BPM is the rectangle button in the top right corner of your Steam window / leftside from minimize)
2. Click on / Go to Controller Settings*
*(Make sure your gamepad is plugged in during the process, otherwise it doesn’t work)
3. Activate the Configuration Support
4. “ESC” out of Settings – Go to Library
5. Navigate Library / Click on the game
6. then Manage Game / Controller Options
7. Make it look alike, then click on OK
8. Open Controller Configuration
9. Ignore it for now* / “ESC” back to game
*(You come back to this later from your regular library with a community tool! This page is dumb.)
10. Open / Close game once from BPM*
*(It worked if a blue window pops up from the right lower corner when starting the game)
11. “ESC” out and Exit Big Picture Mode
12. Open Library / Manage / Controller*
*(Right click your games from regular Steam Library to access Controller Configuration now 4ever)
13. Now use: “Browse Configs”
14. Choose any config from a section
15. Preview and apply from your desire
