How to build a Base similar to the no man’s sky symbol
How to start / BEYOND
This Guide is made to show some of those Options given in the Game. Some of those Bases are built by me in normal mode for example on New Lennon but I wanted to explain how to do it and started a new Game in construction mode for the easiest way to copy if You want. In normal mode I had to switch pretty often the system because I run out of Material and needed to buy some more 🙂
The BEYOND Update brought some unwanted issues with it. Worst of all: The landing Pads are much larger and don’t fit in the 3*3 squares as formally provided on level 6. Now it is a 5×5 square and require a safe area around to not connect with the surrounding walls. This results in a much higher pylon with an unused hangar beneath it. To make a use of it I suggest to place the Roamer and the other vehicles there. Another unsolved Problem is the high of the structure: The hangar got the same weather as outside. Just now I play on Permanent Death and the Weather is pretty annoying.
The Weather also gets in the Level beneath the hangar although I built a Weather Lock to avoid it. So here’re some Points waiting for solution by Hello Games 🙂
Level 0
After getting started You need to get some distance to the ground. Level 0 is empty and without access. It’s just one square based on the 4 Pillars shown in the Picture.
Level 0 – BEYOND
We need a Power Supply so I installed 8 rechargeable Battery in this unused Room 🙂
Level 1
The Entrance to the Base is above the ground so You will need Your Jetpack. All Levels are two walls high because the bigger Rooms are overwhelming if the ceiling is too low…
Level 2
Here’s only the Portal and the galactic market. The Portal needs to be in the lower levels because if You travel to Your base You otherwise spawn outside on the Ground.
Level 3
Here are three refineries for supply.
Level 4
The Vaults are in this level. Orientated at the ground Squares they just fit perfect in.
BEYOND: The Vaults can be placed only on a small foundation. The Foundation can be deleted after setting the Vault to get rid of the the pillar in the level below.
BEYOND: The floating Vaults of Starr…
Connected to the Power Supply and connected to each other.
Level 5
The employees are located on this level. One big ground square is always left free between them and the missing place ist left free for the view out of the windows using the stairs.
BEYOND: The Guy for the Vehicles is not longer avalible.
Level 6
Here is the showroom with ossified stars etc. I think they are pretty good looking in a glass cube and illuminated. During the building progress You have to center a cube exactly in the middle of the room and go further up. The distance is necessary to place the landing pads.
The landing Pads do not fit in any longer. Although the weather get’s in this room. I tried to avoid it with the ceyling and a Weather Lock but it does not work.
Level 7 – Weather Lock
In this Level I try to get the Weather out of my base. I’ve git a second Weather Lock beneath the Landing Pads but it is not made of “roof” and might be a Problem. The main Construction of the Lock is shown on the Pic.
Three rooftops- squares are lifted to the next Level becaus the stairs won’t fit on it. So You’ve got enaugh way to walk through the Gate. The stairs are tricky to set sometimes. If You want to build something benath a stair, the stair has to be set first.
Out of order – Level 7 – Landing Pads
This does not work with BEYOND -.-
The landing pads have to be placed by using the help construction as shown in the picture. If You did not match exactly the middle of the room You maybe have to delete the windows around them.
Important is to make sure the touch pads are orientated in the corners to make sure the starting ship won’t crash into the roof!
Level 8 – 10 – Hangar
Just… plenty of unused Space^^
Level 11 – Landing Pads
You need a help construction to place the Landing Pads above the ground structure. They will be floating but it’s not that bad.
Above the Landing Pads are 2 Level Space. Now we’re at the rooftop…
Level 12 – Rooftop
The distance between the ceiling of the landing pad and the roof ist three walls. The roof itself is without entrance and build massive to get the shape of the no man’s sky symbol. The roof is open above the landing pads because otherwise they can’t be used.
