Overview
So you want to be able to loop daily like me? Well, you’ve came to the right place, my friend. Here, I will tell you good tips disguised by sarcasm and various bad jokes, enjoy.
I’M NOT INCLUDING HIDDEN STUFF/SECRETS OK?
ok
Basic tips aka how to make your first memes
So you’ve read this much, so I assume you’re here for the long run. Well, just so you are a little prepared for what’s ahead, let me give you the basics:
tips idk:
• Don’t get too close to a ranged enemy, they can still fire their gun unless you are very close, and some ranged enemies even do contact damage. (ex. scorpians)
• Try and conserve your ammo and burst fire; (yes, NT is like CS:GO) this is especially useful when using guns like the pop gun or minigun that fire very quickly.
• Don’t try to get pickups if they are in a dangerous spot; I assume you would rather have low health than no health.
• Use cover a lot, and never expose yourself if you don’t have to.
• Dodging is very important in Nuclear Throne; if you want to learn how to dodge effectively, just start playing and see how long you can survive the level without killing any enemies while constantly moving.
• Stay calm, exitement kills
• Don’t get mad if you die. We all die, you’re not special
• Try to utilize your character’s active ability to it’s full potential. None of them are gimmicky, trust me.
• Don’t stop moving unless you have to.
Misc. tips:
- Gamma Guts + Scarier Face will make you immune to Snowbots
- Arrow swing melees (Screwdriver, Jackhammer) Will destroy (and can’t reflect) projectiles, this includes explosives
- You get more rads overall with the Crown of Blood, and you generally get your ultra around labs
- Laser brain does not affect plasma explosions, but it does still enhance the Devastator
- Laser brain makes energy projectiles resonate longer (which makes them do more damage) and makes energy projectiles bigger. This includes energy melee weapons
- Shotgun Shoulders makes shell projectiles do more damage right after bouncing off a wall.
- Lucky Shot gives more ammo to Fish
- Dog Guardians will not try and pursue you if they do not have a direct line of sight on you.
- Strong Spirit gives you a recovery time of 5 frames after using it
- Mom heals herself with toxic clouds
- Laser Crystals will instantly kill you upon contact, unless you have Strong Spirit
- Eating a cursed weapon as Robot will do 7 damage to you, but will still give you pickups
- Eating a golden weapon as Robot will give you 5 pickups instead of 1
- Eating an ultra weapon as Robot will give you rads along with 2 pickups
- Robot’s Regurgitate ultra will make him automaticall pick up weapons from weapon chests you spawn with the ultra, meaning you can pick up Cursed weapons without you choosing to do so.
- If you go into a Crown Vault with a crown already, there will be a proto chest, which you can store weapons in that will still be there between different runs
- Explosive projectiles will explode on contact with props.
- Sharp teeth does double the damage you took to all enemies on screen
- Gamma Guts does 6 damage per frame and causes a small explosion that does 8 damage in it’s radius after killing an enemy
- Trigger Fingers only affects the current reload after killing an enemy
- If you take 3 weapon specific mutations, (Recycle Gland, Long Arms, Shotgun Shoulders, Bolt Marrow, Boiling Veins, and Laser Brain) the next time you mutate you will have the option to take Heavy Heart, which increases weapon drop rate
- Last Wish, Crown Vault exit portals, and looping the game all will uncurse any cursed weapons you have
- Big Rad Canisters give less rads overall. A normal Rad Canister gives 25 rads, but a Big variant gives 45, while 2 normal variants would give 50 in total.
- Overgrown Rad Canisters give more rads overall.
Alright, now that you have basic training, let’s move on to the next memes.
Playable characters (not NPCs lol)
Fish: Fish can roll. (bad meme xddd) Fish gets more ammo. What does this mean? It means fish is the ultimate chracter if you hate staying behind cover and just wanna get out and shoot some baddies. His dodge roll is very useful in tight situations where you need to quickly get away from somewhere because you’re about to get blasted by green toxic beams of death. This, coupled with the ammo, means you can enter a dangerous area and just spam your weapon while dodging enemy fire. Not only that, with the fact that you get more ammo by default, and can use your dodge roll to quickly gain on enemies and melee them, means that ammo shortage should almost never be a problem.
Crystal: Ahh Crystal, probably the best character for newbies. She comes with 2 extra health, (which goes a long way in Nuclear Throne, unlike every FPS ever) and can shield. This means that Crystal is a great character if you are bad at dodging or find that you lose a lot of health. Be warned that the shield does not reflect melee attacks.
Eyes: Eyes is an interesting character, to say the least. His active ability can act as a disadvantage if you pull in a melee enemy that was already coming towards you, but it also pushes away projectiles and pulls in goodies like pickups and chests. The telekinesis can also mess with the enemy’s AI and make their aim off by a little, but don’t count on it. Because of eyes’ telekinesis he is also a good melee character since he can pull in enemies. You should use the telekinesis when wanting to mess with enemy aim, to detour projectiles, or when you want to pull sutff in. Don’t just hold right click and expect to be prosperous. Eyes’ passive ability is near useless and definitly needs an alternative, don’t think it will help you very much at all.
Melting: Melting is a true glass cannon. He has extremely high vulnerability, but can do massive damage. He has a passive that only makes enemies drop 1 extra rad, which adds up; and he can blow up corpses, which will destroy projectiles and enemies. As an added bonus, the explosions don’t hurt you! Corpse explosions should be used to explode projectiles or enemies, and only that. Don’t just spam right click because the explosions look cool, silly. Though this may sound all great and good, Melting comes with a disadvantage. He only starts with 2 HP, which means he will die in one blow to anything but maggots. This means that you should be very good at dodging damage if you what to be the least bit successful with Melting.
Plant: Plant, the ultimate character for speed runs because of the simple fact that Plant moves quicker as a passive. This, coupled with the fact that plant can stop enemies in their tracks literally, makes Plant very good for slowly degrading areas of enemies. Plant is a good character in tight spaces or against larger targets, because with tight spaces you can pretty much cut off the movement through one choke point for your enemies, and/or with big targets such as Dog Guardians you can stop them in their tracks and handle them from there.
Y.V.: Y.V. Where do I start? He’s the illuminati, and can play airhorns by pressing B. nuff said, best character, you need to know no more.
What’s this? Actual elaboration?:
Y.V. the Gun God is extremely good for clearing out areas quickly, if you know how to use him. His Pop Pop is generally only good for taking out larger targets, but coupled with a weapon like a shotgun that already fired a lot of projectiles at once, it can become great for clearing out large groups of enemies. This coupled with his increased rate of fire makes him great for demolishing groups of enemies very quickly. Sadly, Y.V.’s special ability does not work with melee.
Steroids: Steroids, maybe he’s a druggie, maybe he’s a scientist, who knows. Steroids can use 2 weapons at once, which is more useful than it sounds, it allows you do to combos that basically allow you to kill things quicker at the cost of ammo depletion on both weapons. But that really isn’t a big disadvantage if you can keep your ammo up. Also, your weapons are fully automatic, meaning you can just hold down LMB/RMB and never have to tap fire, which is obviously just because it’s hard to manage the reloads of 2 weapons at once. This means that Steroids is meant for doing massive damage with both weapons with no real downsides or big upsides. There are some interesting weapon combos such as melee + disc, but generally just holding down LMB and RMB will do good.
Robot: Beep boop, here’s the bot of ro. Robot is a good character for everyone because of one reason: we all hate screwdrivers. Robot’s passive allows him to eat weapons to gain either ammo or HP equal to that of those square boxes from enemies. Also, Robot finds higher tier weapons earlier on, which is very helpful. (aka finding a flame shotgun on 1-3) Robot is good if you are good at the game without any character’s special abilities, but are very picky about your weapons of choice. Because, with Robot, you can eat all those pesky screwdrivers you find on 7-2.
Chicken: Chick-fil-a is probably the best fast food resturant in existence, and this NT character is probably one of the reasons why. Chicken can throw her weapon, in which the damage of which increases as your level does. This becomes extremely useful if you run out of ammo, which is usually a death sentence as most other characters. This coupled with the fact that you can revive yourself if your lucky makes Chicken amazing for overextending runs. You can also use your active to “hold” several weapons at once. This allows you to have ease when making decisions on which weapons you should take, because you can take all of them if you so please.
Rebel: You’re a rebel, I like you. Rebel can summon allies that aid in combat for the cost of health, and she gains half of the health you’re missing when entering a portal. This makes Rebel godlike for clutches on loops, or really, anywhere. The fact that you get free health if you are low on health when entering a portal, and the fact that you can summon allies to gain a giant DPS upgrade is amazing. Just note that if you want to always have a giant DPS upgrade, you will become a glass cannon similar to Melting.
Horror: Horror is the ultimate loop character. Allowing you to choose key mutations that you wouldn’t normally have the option to choose is very good. Not only that, but you basically start with an ultra weapon that can destroy projectiles and powers up over time. I do not recommend using your active until you have reached your ultra mutation or you know that your rads will hit your target, as mutations are very important to get as quickly as possible, and having the risk of extending how much time you have to wait until you get your ultra is a large disadvantage.
Rogue: Rogue is meant for a player who can take on a large amount of enemies, but have trouble sometimes with the RNG of NT and needs some sort of way to handle it. The Portal Strike comes in, and also to help if you don’t use the portal strike, you have blast armor incase you are swarmed. But this comes with the disadvantage of the IDPD constantly hunting you, so you better be able to kill off those guys if you want to deal with unlucky RNG, or just large groups of enemies/large enemies.
Good Mutations for each playable non-NPC characters
I ran out of room on the section above lmao. There are some mutations which are considered mandatory by high level players, this includes:
Strong Spirit: Can literally save your life
Rabbit Paw: More ammo/health drops which is extremely useful
Trigger Fingers: You can shoot extremely fast with weapons such as the SPC
Long Arms: Extended melee range which helps deflect projectiles which can end your run surprise surprise.
Fish:
Throne Butt: Fish’s throne butt is actually extremely good and changes his whole meta for the better
Gamma Guts: You can roll into enemies
Extra Feet: Stacks well with your roll ability
Back Muscle: To hold all your extra ammo
Lucky Shot: To stack with your extra ammo
Plutonium Hunger: To make use of your extra ammo by having the ability to collect more of it
Open Mind: Chance that the chest will be another ammo, which stacks with Fish’s passive
Boiling Veins: Incase you roll into an explosive barrel or something retarded like that
Crystal:
Rhino Skin: Stacks with your already higher max HP
Euphoria: Gives you more time to shield
Second Stomach: So you can maintain your higher HP

Gamma Guts: Incase an enemy is retarded enough to run into you while you’re shielding
Sharp Teeth: You have more health so you will do more damage overall
Bloodlust: More HP so you can maintain the higher max
Stress: Higher HP and as thus you can have a higher rate of fire while having more HP than normal
Open Mind: Chance that the chest will be a Medkit, which helps to maintain your higher HP
+/-:
Strong Spirit: Harder to recharge. Yes, it may have good synergy since you can take even more hits before you die, but you will also have a harder time getting SS back, which can be detrimental.
Melting:
Rhino Skin: Melting has low HP
Strong Spirit: Melting has low HP and SS is easier to recharge, avoid if you are planning to get Melting’s Ultra Mutation “Detachment,” as SS will only be able to be used once
Gamma Guts: Incase something touches you, instead of dying you will kill it
Boiling Veins: Will have it’s effects be permanent unless you took Rhino Skin, since you’re always lower than 4 HP unless you get Rhino Skin
Impact Wrists: Corpses will travel farther so you can do damage from further away
Throne Butt: Extremely useful for killing things and makes Melting’s Active very useful pre-loop
Scarier Face: Enemies will die quicker (and can be used as explosions even quicker) and with Melting’s “Brain Capacity” Ultra Mutation it will make enemies even easier to blow up.
Plutonium Hunger: To make sure you collect the extra rads you get; and as Melting you will generally play more passively and from a longer range.
Open Mind: Chance that there will be an extra Rad Canister which stacks with your passive
Trigger Fingers: To avoid getting killed if you have a slow firing weapon
Hammerhead: To avoid getting killed easily
AVOID:
Stress: There are few things that won’t kill you in one hit
Sharp Teeth: Same as above
Second Stomach: Without Rhino Skin it’s useless, even with it it still has less usefullness that if it were used with other characters
Eyes:
Back Muscle: You can manage a higher max since you can pull in more ammo
Boiling Veins: Incase you pull in a sniper or some crap
Euphoria: To stack with your bullet detouring

Rhino Skin: You can maintain a higher HP since you can pull in more
Second Stomach: Stacks with the fact that you can pull in more HP
Sharp Teeth: Incase you accidently take damage from pulling in an enemy
+/-:
Throne Butt: Pulls in enemies faster, which can hurt you, but can also help you. Also detours projectiles faster which is plain helpful.

Extra Feet: Stacks with your extra speed
Gamm Guts: You can trap enemies and you move faster
Throne Butt: Changes the meta of plant and makes killing things easier
Scarier Face: Stacks well with throne butt

Impact Wrists: Stacks with the fact that pop pop makes corpses go farther
Laser Brain: Stacks with pop popping for extra damage
Recycle Gland: Same as back muscle/luckly shot
Scarier Face: Makes some pop pop combos more viable
Stress: Stacks with Y.V’s higher rate of fire
Trigger Fingers: Stacks with Y.V’s faster rate of fire and makes pop pop even more viable
AVOID:
Long Arms: Generally melee is of less use as Y.V.

Heavy Heart: More ammo
Laser Brain: You get an even higher DPS upgrade
Scarier Face: Stacks with your DPS upgrade
Stress: Same as above
Robot:
Back Muscle: You can manage a higher max since you get more ammo as Robot
Heavy Heart: More weapons is good with Robot for obvious reasons
Rhino Skin: You can manage the higher max as Robot
Throne Butt: Increases your active’s abilities.
Chicken:
Back Muscle: You can manage the higher max by throwing weapons instead of shooting them
Bloodlust: Can save your life if you’re headless
Boiling Veins: Your max HP can go to 4 or 2, which if you have boiling veins you will be invulnerable to explosives and fire if you get there
Open Mind: Could be a HP Chest that will replenish lost max HP if you have lost some.
Plutonium Hunger: So you can pull in HP that you don’t see when headless.
Rabbit Paw: Higher chance of HP dropping which can save your life when headless.
Rhino Skin: Not only increases HP but increases your max HP after being headless. Can also save your life if inside a portal headless.
Stress: You can reach 0 HP and still be “alive” as chicken which means you will be using stress to it’s maximum ability.
Rebel:
Back Muscle: You can manage the higher max with allies.
Bloodlust: Gain more health; which is useful as Rebel for obvious reasons

Open Mind: Possibility of an extra portal strike canister
+/-:
Throne Butt: Clear out a larger area, which can hurt you if you accidently clear out cover that you wanted to use.
Areas of the world of Nuclear Throne which is a game
areas ok?:
Desert: The desert is the first area and the easiest area, just run and gun if you can dodge well. If you can’t, try to find cover.
Enemies of note:
•Scorpians: Scorpians are the brute of the desert, and can be very deadly to new players. Practice dodging scorpians, and if you can, avoid their projectiles altogether.
•Maggots Nest: Maggot’s nests will burst into maggots if you get to close. (so don’t) Also, high damage weapons like the slugger or most melee weapons you can kill all the maggots instantly, same with Big Maggots.
•Big Bandit: Big Bandit is the first boss of the game, he is extremely easy if you know how to handle him, the best strategy to handle Big Bandit is just to peek fire him, or if you know how to dodge, you can just go full ham on him and kill him almost instantly.
Sewers: Sewers, yes, you go into a sewers in this game, get used to crap like this. In this area it is recommended that you have a weapon that doesn’t have too long of a reload time (pop gun, laser pistol, even shotgun) and/or a melee. (besides ones like shovel that have a long reload) Though this is just recommendation if you’re new, most higher level players will be able to clear the area with a toxic launcher and rusty revolver. You should be weary of your surroundings, as alligators, assasins, etc. can easily catch you by surprise.
Enemies of note:
•Ballguy: Aka frogs, are best handled at a distance or with a melee, because the melee will destroy the projectiles the Ballguy spawns. I don’t know why their official name is Ballguy, nor does anyone else I think.
•Assasins: Assasins can be pretty sneaky and catch you off guard if you aren’t used to them, so be very careful around them. Also, tips don’t lie, assasins can play dead, so check every assasin corpse you find unless you’re certain it’s dead.
•Alligators: Alligators can catch you off guard, so be weary of them. They are more common on the green ventilation ground stuff, so be especially careful in those areas. In order to handle alligators you should never charge them without care. Instead, you should catch them by surprise and use cover to evade their attacks. Same goes for Buff Alligators.
•Big Green Rats: These guys are only a true danger if they start charging, so be sure to kill them quickly.
Scrapyard: Does anyone else realize that this is the area with the most fire based enemies and yet it’s raining? Pretty ironic if you ask me. The Scrapyard can be very hard to overcome for new players; a mix of the sudden difficulty spike with way more bullet hell than usual and the traps scattered around everywhere can be quite dangerous. My tips to you are to assess your threats and slowly tackle each room; generally going in guns blazing doesn’t work if you’re new to this area. Sit back behind cover and pick away at enemies, and watch out for explosive cars and fire traps.
Enemies of note:
•Ravens: Ravens can be a nuisance in packs, which is why I recommend taking it slow if you’re new(er). Also, don’t run straight into these guys, keep your distance, they can still shoot when you’re pretty close to them.
•Fire Salamanders: These guys you really need to take cover to kill. Their main attack can’t really be dodged, so I recommend targetting these guys before trying to be too offensive.
•Snipers: These guys can actually be dodged quite easily. If you’re being tracked by a sniper, simply walk in one direction orbiting the sniper’s location, and their bullets most likely won’t hit you. Use their laser sight to your advantage; you can easily shoot along it and you will most likely hit them unless a prop or enemy is in the way. Lastly, be cautious when engaging them in close quarters, They do explode upon death, which can end your run very easily.
Conclusion
I WILL ADD MORE AS I GO ALONG, SORRY NO TIME RIGHT NOW XDDD
