[Nvidia] FPS Increase, Stuttering fix, input lag fix

Overview

This guide was initially posted by me in the Islands of Nyne discord server under the #public channel. Since a lot of people still complain about FPS drops, I thought I’d make a guide on steam.

BEFORE YOU START: In-Game Settings

Before you start, Make sure that your game is fullscreen.

Please keep in mind that whenever you launch your game, it RESETS TO BORDERLESS WINDOWED DESPITE THE GAME SAYING IT IS IN FULLSCREEN. Please switch back to Windows mode and set it back to Fullscreen.

Nvidia Control Panel Optimization

Those who have issues with IoN graphics with a Nvidia graphics card do this:

1. Open Nvidia Control Panel
2. Manage 3D Settings
3. Add program -> Islands of Nyne
4. Set “Power Management Mode” – “PREFER MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE”
5. Set ” Threaded Optimization” to “On” — This uses more CPU cores.
6. Triple Buffering “OFF” — You don’t need this as this game is DirextX 11 and NOT OPENGL.
7. Vertical Sync “Off”

Task Manager Optimization

If you’re still having issues…

Task manager
Right click IoN
Go to Details, Right click again
Set priority to “High” or “Above Normal”.

IMPORTANT NOTE: CHANGING CONFIG FILE!

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT MODIFY THE CONFIG FILES! The developers are warning that you do not modify the config files for any graphical changes as there’s a change that BattlEye, the anti-cheat service, may ban you from the game. Please refrain from changing this file.
