Obscure – Remote play together.

Overview

I decided to make this guide because me and a friend got some troubles to getting the game running via “Remote play together” just to figure out the solution was quite simple.

How to Remote play!

• A Controller for the 2nd player.
  • Pretty much what every Remote play together game requires, it might makes some troubles if both player using the same keyboard.
• The current steam beta.
  • This might change upon steam recive new updates, but for the current date ( 12.05.2021 ) you need to join the current steam beta if both of you using different Operating Systems.
    • Already using different Windows versions is making troubles.

To join the steam beta:

Click on Steam > Settings > Account and in the Beta participation tab click on Change.. and choose the current Steam Beta Update

First thing you have to do is changing Controller for the 2nd player.

• If Player 1 uses Keyboard, Player 2 has to use controller.
• If Player 1 uses Controller, Player 2 has to use Keyboard.

1. First of all Player 1 needs one partner to follow him since Player 2 will take control over them.
2. Player 2 now just has to join the game by pressing ESC with Keyboard or Start with Controller.
3. Player 1 now only has to accept the request.

• When Player 1 dies, Player 2 will become the “leader” making him able to pause the game and stuff.
  • If 4 out of 5 characters should die the game becomes singleplayer.
    • If Player 1 should die, Player 2 continues alone until the host ends the season.
