Overview
Have you ever wanted to take Duck Game to the next level? Want to show off new tricks to confuse and amaze your friends? This guide will give you nothing less than everything to do so.
Practice, Practice, Practice!
These tricks won’t be mastered overnight. A good way to practice is with my Custom Arcade Levels: Shotgun Qualification Course, Sword Qualification Course, and Chainsaw Qualification Course.
To play these levels yourselves, refer to this guide on playing custom arcade levels.

Sword Tricks
Stabbing is a way to lunge your sword straight at your target, completely ignoring any obstacles that might be blocking your sword if you were to swing. To pull one off, you must press DOWN and quickly press the opposite direction. (LEFT if stabbing right, RIGHT if stabbing left) Once in this position, you can press ATTACK to stab.
A useful implication of this technique is to kill an enemy swordsman before he kills you. Slide towards your opponent, then stab while moving for an easy kill. If your opponent tries to swing, it will take too long for the sword to reach you, since you are on the ground. This example shows a similar situation, but instead the enemy has a shotgun.
If you accidentally brought a sword to a gunfight, you’re not in that much trouble. You can actually block enemy bullets with your sword! By sliding towards your enemy or simply crouching, you hold your sword in front of your face. Your sword can block an infinite amount of bullets, and it can even block the frags from grenades! This technique does not protect your feet, so a lucky bullet can still kill you. This makes blocking grenades unreliable if they are on the ground.
A great way of confusing your opponent is with a sword pogo. To sword pogo, you must first jump, and hold DOWN then ATTACK to stick your sword downward. After each jump, you must release all keys and hold DOWN and ATTACK again. To move, you must press LEFT or RIGHT between pogos. This technique makes you hard to hit and extremely dangerous.
You also gain extra height with a sword pogo.
A break in physics, the sword climb can be used to scale any height of wall. First, you must pogo next to the wall, and stab while in mid air repeatedly at the wall. The more you stab, the higher you will go. If your hands are fast enough, you can switch directions before you lose upward velocity to switch walls.
Gun Tricks
Usually with shotguns or the Mag Blaster, you shoot and jump at the same time to gain extra height with each jump. With automatic weapons or the Pistol, you would need to shoot multiple times to gain height.
You can shoot at any angle, aslong as your timing is correct. Try fluttering while holding a gun. See how you don’t raise it up immediately. If you shoot while your gun is at an angle, you will shoot at an angle. To shoot downward, flutter above your target, switch directions, and shoot almost instantly after switching directions. This is useful for any gun, but most notably guns that shoot at an arc, because angle shooting can get them to go farther than normal.
You are fluttering slowly down an endless abyss. All you have is a shotgun in your hands and a log on your head. The round seems lost, but there is a way to get back into the fight! Remember that trick where you could shoot downwards? You can do just that, but instead you’re trying to gain height. This is probably that most important trick in this entire guide, as it has saved countless rounds for me.
Chainsaw Tricks
For anybody that doesn’t know, you can slide and press ATTACK to go forward quickly with a chainsaw. Now, lets get to the big boy stuff.
Similar to gun jumping, hit a wall with your chainsaw and jump at the same time. You can get even more height if you chainsaw race into a chainsaw jump. As shown in my Custom Arcade level, Chainsaw Qualification Course, you can actually hit the same wall twice!
Right after the double chainsaw jump, Chainsaw Qualification Course shows a wall of spikes that needs to be scaled. How in the world is this done? First, you have to face the direction opposite of the wall. Hold STRAFE, and UP to flutter. Then, press ATTACK and the direction of the wall, and you’ll climb up the wall! Be careful, as this technique will absolutely destroy your chainsaw if you climb for too long.
You can also do this going forwards by tapping jump and holding the direction of the wall and ATTACK.
Other Tricks
Is there a ledge that is one block higher than you can jump? Don’t worry, because there is a way to jump one block higher than normal. If you trip milliseconds after you jump, you can boost youself up the ledge. It is a bit risky, though, because you will lose your weapon and your helmet in the process. If you have time, consider throwing your weapon and helmet up the ledge before boosting, or try gun jumping up the ledge.
Using a hammer, slide and press ATTACK and JUMP at the same time. Repeatedly press ATTACK to go higher and farther. This technique will often lead in death via falling, but it is very useful in enclosed maps.
If you’re stuck inside a one-block thin tunnel, spam the heck out of WASD to shoot yourself out.
To throw with a higher velocity, you would move forward while letting go of your prop. You can also do this by strafing backwards, if the situation calls for it. All three props were thrown at the arrow.
Meaningless Tricks
No matter what you do, any combination of jumping or holding the hammer will not negate any friction when using a spring. You will always go the same distance. That is, unless you jump and trip at the same time while entering the spring from the inside (it doesn’t work when entering the spring from the correct side). This will launch you with a greater velocity, but at the cost of being miles away from your weapon.
You have to get up there. It doesn’t matter how, you just REALLY need to get up there. This is how you get up there. (What’s a boost jump?)
Semi-Obscure Information
This game doesn’t have a full, in-depth tutorial. Here is some imformation for the new guys out there who don’t know much about the game.
You can kill a duck, including yourself, with any prop in the game. The props weigh differently, making some better for killing, and some worse.
Oh, and you can apparently stand on a Death Crate and survive, if you jump on it perfectly.
