This is an outdated guide, but the key points still remain the same.Do you want to better your skill as Leon? Have you encountered another Leon that just owned you? Want to learn how? Then this is the guide for you. Here I will explain a few builds and try to help you improve your Leon skill.

Introduction

Hello! I am PenguinPandaZero. Welcome to my Leon guide.

I am going to explain the basic concept of Leon and then show and explain some different play styles in case one suits you more than the other.

About Leon Chameleon

Leon’s life is a life of crime, women, and borrowing without returning. He lost his arm in a unfortunate jeu de boules incident and spends most of his time smoothly escaping debt collectors. He found himself breaking into the bedroom of the prime minister’s wife, while looking for the wine cellar.

“I blow my nose in your direction!”

He knew no amount of charm could save him this time and planned his escape, which was eventually delayed because he refused to escape in anything but a space yacht.

Leon joined the Awesomenauts for some quick cash, spending it on beautiful women and exquisite meals. In combat, he puts his natural reptile abilities to some good use and slices up his enemies with great precision. Combat is a form of art for this green gentleman.

Here are his stats that you should know:

Health : 130(160)
Movement: 7.4 (Around Froggy G’s AA Speed)
Attack Type: Melee
Role: Assasin

Knowing this, realize that you are not very strong at first however, his upgrades are not very expensive.

Leon Chameleon is a stealthy assassin that is meant for one purpose: To take enemies by surprise. He has a tongue to pull enemies to him and a cloak to… cloak. He has a melee weapon so it takes some getting used to. But once you gain the basic concept of him (cloak, tongue them to you, and attack) then you should listen to this guide.

Cloaks you and spawns a fake Leon.

Attack Speed: 136 (About 5 every 2 seconds)
Range: 3.2 (about Leon’s size)
Damages enemies next to you.

This is a build twards being a supporive player.

“Viva, la Chameleon!”

This is a pretty simple build. If you have a tank kind of team member and want to help them out, this is the build for you.
For this build, you want your focus to be:
1) Pulling the enemy into your team or turret and ensnaring them.
2) Making your clone attack enemies.

Pros:
You are helping your team.
You are annoying the enemy team.
Your team likes your help.

Cons:
You can not easily defend yourself.
You must have a player that knows what he/she is doing.
You will not get a high level (if you care).

No matter what build you use for Leon I always advise upgrading speed anyway.

Support Build Gameplay:

Crit Leon Build [Outdated]

THIS BUILD IS OUTDATED!!! SUBJECT TO CHANGE!

This is a build for people who are at a fairly low level or have just prestiged.

This is a build revolving around crits, without crits, this build is not useful. You should:
1) Get Solar Tree.
2) Get Tongue Snatch & Cloaking Skin.
3) Max out Clover of Honour.
4) Max out Enhanced Muscle Fibers.
5) Max out Space Air Max & Power Pills Light.
6) Max out Spiked Tongue Piercing.
7) Get Steel False Teeth.
8) Max out Surprise Party Mask.
9) Get Pinot Noir.
10) Let the kills come!

Pros:
You have a good damage output early on.
You start out with all of these upgrades so it’s good for beginners or people who prestiged.
You don’t need much skill.

Cons:
You are an easy target early on.
When caught off guard, you can be easily killed.

Crit Leon Build Gameplay:

Survival Build (by MasterQueef)

This is a build that will let you survive better while still dealing decent damage.

“Ohn ohn!”

This build will allow you do deal damage while healing yourself in the process. With the right upgrades, you will gain more health than you lose in one-on-one battles. The Hungry Sword and Steel False Teeth allow you to regenerate health just from killing creep, which is extremely useful when Cloaking Skin is on cooldown so Pinot Noir isn’t active.
Party Mask, Chainsaw Addon and Backstab Blade are all used to deal big damage. Combined with the life stealing abilities this creates a very strong character who can regenerate health while still dealing a lot of damage.

Pros:
Can survive much more.
You get healed my doing damage.

Cons:
It takes a long time to get your damage up.
Tongue does very little damage.

Survival Build Gameplay:
“HAHA, I never miss!”

Clone Spam Build

This is a build that revolves around your clones. It is used as both harassing and pushing.

This build requires close to no skill at all. You do what the name implies. You spam clones. You create a clone and instantly decloak to make it do its thing. First get your utilites and solar magnet. Then, get all clone upgrades. After that focus on damage output (to optimize your clone). From there do what you wish.
Note: If desired, you may replace Extra Battery Pack with Blow Up Doll.

Pros:
Requires almost no skill.
Helps push.
If the enemy team has a (non-cat)derpl, you’ll annoy him.

Cons:
You don’t have a cloak.
You have less self defense.

Clone Spam Build Gameplay:
Sorry about the desynced audio.
At the end I am just showind that you can push.

Assassination Build

This is the build that I use and people think I’m hacking when i use it at times. This is a stealthy, build to assasinate enemy players that are alone.

“All is fair in love and war!”

This build requires a slightly higher amount of skill than the support one. However, if you know what you are doing, it is more effective.
The idea behind this build is to do backstab + party mask damage and then tounge them thus doing massive damage, then finishing them off because they are being slowed. The order of your upgrades does not matter much however, i advise getting tongue before cloak. Near the end game phases, you will be doing around 130 damage total with your decloak attack and tounge.

Pros:
You will assasinate the enemy team.
Is very effective mid to end game (assuming it’s not 5 minutes long).
Can easily escape and regenerate your health.
Your clone will attack enemy drones.
Can annoy the enemy team by just harassing them.
Can very quickly destroy the enemy base.
You will be a higher level than most people (if you care).

Cons:
You are vulnerable early game.
Your team must be able to push turrets without you.
The enemy team must be seperated.
Not effective against high health characters such as Clunk or Derpl.
Can not push turrets easily.
Can be easily killed.
