An updated Orca Support guide reflecting the new changes in fleet Boosting. I will show you the skills, some fits, the mindlinks, general information, some tips, and all around theory when it comes to using the orca either in High security Space, Or Nullsec.

Im not surprised your interested in flying the Orca and i applaud you for deciding to train into it and sepnd your hard earned isk on fitting it correctly and buying the ship. You will be able to Boost mining foreman bursts, Haul ore and store ships, and be used as a general mining platform for a mining fleet.
Miners are a dime a dozen, But Orcas make fleets.
This guide will show you how to get maximum boosts and what skils to learn to effeciently fly an Industrial comand ship.
i will not go over the skills for each module to equip the orca with, as it is reccomended that you be able to use all tech 2 medium and low slot fiting options. i will however post a screenshot of a couple fits and you may look into finding out which skills are required to use the specific module(s) you are after.
The Orca.
The Orca is an Industrial Command Ship. its role includes reducing the cycle times and capacitor use of ore and ice harvesters, as well as the mining crystal degration, as well as increase the range of strip miners, ice harvesters, and mining lasers.
The Orca is best used in highsec anywhere mining can be done. A tanky Orca can survive in 0.5-0.7 Security space very easily all on its own, as well as provide logistics to the fleets shields with some shield boosters. An optional thing to do with the Orca is to fit it out as to where you can use shield warefare links as well as the mining foreman links, for a dual combat support role. although this requires sacrifice at the orca’s tank to achieve in the rig slots.
The Orca has a massive Ore Hold and decent fleet hangar and cargo space. its very useful as being an onfield hauler. The Ore hold starts off at 150,000 m3 of ore. The Fleet hangar holds 40,000 m3. And the Cargo holds 30,000 m3.
In Nullsec the Orca uses an instawarp build fitting, and stays aligned to a safespot for whenever an enemy enters the system. The Trick is to have a miner get close to the rocks they want to mine, then warp the orca in to where they are. a Higs anchor rig wil slow the orca down to 14 m/s and give it instawarp if it stays aligned at 75% speed. The Nullsec Orca slowly moves toward the alignment while the mining fleet keps at range a certain number of meters (within 2,500 to use fleet hangar) Then with the Orca pilot in the corect chain of command spot in the fleet will warp the entire fleet out when Red, nuetral, or war targets enter system/belt.

Here is an example of how to fit your orca out for zero security and less using the method mentioned in the second section of the guide.
The skills, modules, and implants for boost %.
the following skills are needed to achieve maximum bosting potential for mining foreman bursts.
Leadership (7% bonus to burst area of effect per level)
Wing command (6% bonus to burst area of effect per level)
Fleet Command (5 % bonus to burst area of effect per level)
Mining Foreman (10% bonus to duration per level)
Mining Director (10% bonus to mining foreman bursts strength per level)
Industrial commandships (3 % bonus to boost per level)
Cybernetics( for mining foreman and Ore mining director mindlinks) level 5
Mining Foreman Bursts tech 2 provide an additional 25% bonus to strength of the boost.
Mining Foreman Mindlink provides 25% bonus to bost strength and duration.
The Ore mining director mindlink gives 25% bonus to shield command and mining foreman bursts.
Mining Drones, and combat drone bonuses
The orca can use 5 mining drones or 1 ice harvesting drone to contribute to the total amount mined by the fleet.
It is reccomended to use five medium combat drones as well as the orca gets a big bonus to mining and combat drones. in nullsec the amount mined by your drones and dps by your mediums really add up to alot of isk as well as the ability to easily take out rats or gankers.
