BBCT-era themes

Our first experiment with music modding starts from this, a little nostalgic music pack that replaces some themes and default announcer from CT.

● Character select music «Blue Beating» (done by Satreas)

Cold Cinematic shaders

This is a cold dark cinematic shader preset for ReShade that works with any BlazBlue game, not just CF. For this example though we’re gonna use BlazBlue Centralfiction.

1. Download ReShade[reshade.me] from the official website.
2. Open downloaded setup file, locate BBCF.exe in your steamapps folder. Select “Direct3D 9”.
3. Click “Yes” when it asks you to download default effects.
4. After it has downloaded them, in the next window click “Uncheck All” and only select “FakeHDR“, “GaussianBlur“, “MagicBloom“, “Tonemap” and “Vibrance“.
5. You’re almost done, now download the customized preset below and put it along the BBCF.exe, in the root folder of the game.
6. Launch BBCF, press the “Home” key in-game and select my preset in the top left menu.
7. Confirm all the settings and you’re done!

Naoto dash trail fix

It’s just a small fix for Naoto’s dash moves, now he has edgy black and red trails instead of his default weird blue ones.

Hazama’s dark green trail mod

This mod adds a dark green trail effect to Hazama. It only has visual changes, so this works perfectly fine in online without desync. You can only see mod if you have the files changed and so your friends.

v1.00 – initial mod release.
v1.01 – fixed transparency of the black part of the trail.

Improvement Mod is pretty much the essential tool/mod you need in order to fully experience better optimization, ability to see people’s custom palettes, show off your own palettes and even make them in-game! Additional features include region lock remover and custom resolutions.

How to apply a palette using BBCFIM?

Hi. In this little tutorial we’ll tell you how to actually use these weird .hpl files and what to do with them when you download most of the new palettes nowadays. Before, most of the older palettes had a .pac file extension meaning that they were already packed and you only had to basically replace the existing files inside your game folder, but that is very obsolete as you’ll be limited with each character’s own custom palettes and that’s no good.

With the help of KoviDomi and his awesome mod, BlazBlue Improvement Mod, he was able to make this palette customization thing a bit more simple. So, what do we need? Pretty much just the mod itself and some managing around the folders.

Make sure you actually have the mod installed. To install it, download it from the links below, then extract everything that’s inside, including the README.txt which also describes how to make this work, you should also read it just in case.

Now that you have copied everything inside the BlazBlue Centralfiction folder, time to launch it. You should see a menu indicating that it indeed works. Upon launching the game with the mod it’ll create a “manus.ini” file and a folder called “BBCF_IM” which is basically where you’re going to be putting most of your palettes in. Of course, you should also check out the “settings.ini” file to tinker with everything that’s necessary in order to play comfortably in your case.

So after all the preparations, it’s time to get some palettes going. For this example, I’ll be installing Danganronpa’s Makoto palette for Naoto Kurogane. Most palettes have effects along with the base palette, each effect file represents their effect index and you shouldn’t need to rename anything, but do keep that in mind. So, in this case it’s very simple, just copy the downloaded files and chuck them inside the “Naoto” folder inside the “BBCF_IM” and you’re pretty much good to go. Now launch the game, go in-game (training or other mode), in the dropdown menu select your newly installed palette (which will take the effects into consideration if named properly). Boom!

How to apply a palette using Hipster?

Here I’ll guide you through some steps on how to apply the custom palette from our guide. All character palettes are located in BlazBlue CentralfictiondataChar.

— Make sure to backup before anything
— Read carefuly and follow the instructions
— Check the images and guide references to make it more easy to understand

– Open Hipster
– Go to File (top LEFT corner) and select Explore… (CTRL + E)

– Go to the path “BlazBlue CentralfictiondataChar“
– Select the char_XX_pal.pac file of the character that you want to replace their palettes

               

– Right click on the .HPL file that you want to change and select Replace… (Check color guide reference below for more information)
– Choose the custom .HPL files from the mod that you downloaded or made

– Click on OK (A warning message should appear)
– Click on Yes

And you are done! Congratulations for reaching this far~
