The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition Guide

Owedevil's Witcher 2 mod build. for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

Owedevil’s Witcher 2 mod build.

Overview

The purpose of this guide is to provide steps for duplicating this mod build with as little effort and work as possible which amounts to only essential info being included that is directly relevant to achieving this build. You can read descriptions of the mods if the names are not self explanatory on the linked sites.

Downloads/install notes.

If you have a modest PC, you may need to leave out the demanding graphics mods. Some mods may be incompatible with each other but they will be soft/partial incompatibilities that can be ignored. If there are any game breaking conflicts, or conflicts which cause content removal I will remove the mods as I find them.

Subscribe to the comments if you intend to use the guide as that is where I post updates.

This guide is undergoing testing at the moment as of 8/25/17 and I will remove this notice once I am sure there are no bugs/etc. with it. You probably will not encounter any and can use the guide if you want.

I dont know how or why but my client suddenly stopped loading. Every time I tried to load my game it looped and froze, never letting me get in game. No fix I tried worked, so I assume it was the Redux that caused it. I am trying a new play through without it to see what happens.

UPDATE it appears as though the problem was the ENB and, to my surprise, I actually believe I have found teh fix. Look at the ENB instructions for it.

  • Geralt Complete Beard Mod by exsoldier69 [www.nexusmods.com]

Select Fullbeard then drop the characters folder into your CookedPC folder.

  • Better Texture Environment by Jimmy High [www.nexusmods.com]

Extract files to your game directory

  • Requiem ENB by Laptop Guy [www.nexusmods.com]
    1. Download ENBSeries v0.189 beta for Witcher 2 [enbdev.com]
    2. Move d3d9.dll into your Witcher 2/Bin folder with the .exe inside.
    3. Move all the files inside the Requiem ENB – Version 1.0 folder into the same bin folder.
    4. MAKE SURE ANTI-ALIASING IS ON. VIGNETTE IS ON. AND UBERSAMPLING IS OFF.
    5. (OPTIONAL?) Shut off the Steam overlay by going into your Steam Library and into properties, though I notice no difference with it off and enjoy taking screenshots so leave it on but I do not actually open it.

A slight amount of easy tweaking is necessarily to achieve what is, in my opinion and for my monitor, the best result. Open your in-game menu by pressing SHIFT + ENTER and change teh settings so they look like mine then click on save when you are finished so you dont have to change them every time you start teh game.

These are the visuals you are to expect with Better Texture Environment and the ENB with the game on max.

  • Comfy Couch (and Dynamic HUD) by Presskohle [http//wcom]

Be sure to download ComfyCouch v09b includes Dynamic HUD v12 and copy “ccouchdhud.dzip” into your CookedPC folder.

  • The Witcher 2 Tweaker by fallenzeraphine [www.nexusmods.com]

Careful with this mod, if you go too high in settings it can cause freezing or crashes. Save often and experiment.

Run from any location. If your graphics settings are not updating make sure the config files in Documents/Witcher 2 are not blocked in any way and the Tweaker is allowed in system security.

make certain to manually enter values if you have a beefy rig capable of higher than max gameplay. I have an i7 4770 3.4 GHz, an R9 390 8gb, 16 GB RAM, and I go above max with no problems. If you have a similar or better rig I recommend doing so as well. Remember to increase in even segments where it deals with memory in MB.. If you think you can do more than the game’s max of 2 GB or 4 GB for a certain aspect, then increase it by a quarter/half/three-fourths/one/two/etc. of a GB and do not just put a random number.

    -For reference-

    • A quarter of a GB is 256 MB.
    • A half a GB is 512 MB.
    • 3/4th of a GB is 768 MB.
    • One GB is 1024 MB.

  • More_Sexy by eliseeff [www.nexusmods.com]

Unpack the files in the folder “cookedPC” in More_sexy_v1_3, Luiza, and True Lesbomancy into the “CookedPC” in the main game folder. There are other files, but I left them out due to they not being very tasteful.

  • Succubus_Nude by mad_mogli [www.nexusmods.com]

Extract files in the mod’s CookedPC into the game’s CookedPC folder.

  • Naked Geralt is Naked by Kindo [www.nexusmods.com]

    Same as above.

  • More_Sexy_II by eliseeff [www.nexusmods.com]

    Drop More_Sexy_II in UserContent folder.

  • Luxury Boards and Dices – Nude by Zerubess [www.nexusmods.com]
    1. Make folder called CookedPC, make a folder called environment_levels in it, make a folder called mini_games in it, make a folder called dices in it, and make a folder called tex in it.
    2. Verify that you did it correctly, this is the folder pathing; CookedPCenvironment_levelsmini_gamesdicestex
    3. Put 01-41 inside the tex folder.
    4. Make the folders CookedPCenvironment_levelsdecorationsdices in the same way.
    5. Put Dice 01-03 in the dices folder, if you did the optional download.
    6. Drop the CookedPC folder you just made into your made game folder and, of course, overwrite.

  • Junk Dismantling by Barrodin [www.nexusmods.com]

Do not install if you are using Redux, it already has dismantling in it. Drop the items folder into your game’s CookedPC folder.

When you are done modding make sure to select all mods that are displayed in the launcher’s mod list
