Photoshop Flowey: Opening

Photoshop Flowey is the final boss you fight in the neutral run.
He will appear shortly after you decide to kill or spare Asgore.
After you defeat Asgore, Flowey will appear and kill him and his soul, after that he will proceed to absorb the six other human souls all before the game crashes itself to your desktop.
Once you re-open the game, a distorted version of the main intro will play saying “Long ago, two races ruled over Earth: HUMANS and MONSTERS. One day, they all disappeared without a trace.”
After the distorted intro, it will show a save you can load.
But instead of being your original save with your name and level, it’s a save made by Flowey.

After selecting continue you will appear in a pitch black room with your only option to go up.
If you proceed up you’ll come across a save spot.
If you interact with it, it’ll show your original save file reading that your location is “The End”.
After a second something will start to bang on the screen making red cracks appear around the save.
The window will break revealing a large version of Floweys face floating above you.
He will explain that after you weakened Asgore, he had the opportunity to kill him and absorb the six human souls and that he was missing one more before he could become god and break the barrier.
After that, you decide to challenge him, thus commencing the fight.

Photoshop Flowey: Basics

Now that the fight has begun, i have to explain some things about his attacks, intermissions, and his phases.
Throughout the fight, you will be face with countless ammounts of attacks.
Most attacks being very difficult to dodge, it’s not likely you’ll end the fight without taking some damage.
Throughout the attack sections, the FIGHT button can appear near you on the bottom of the screen randomly.
You can interact with it by pressing Z / Enter, though it will only result in doing 1 damage mostly to Photoshop Flowey in the first phase.
But the attacks aren’t the only obstacle you’ll have to face this fight.
In between the bursts of attacks, there will be Soul Intermissions.
Soul Intermissions are when in between attack phases the television screen on Photoshop Flowey will start to flash red with a warning sign and one of the six colored souls (Based on which phase you’re on)
After that, photoshop flowey will fade to black leaving only your soul and the television screen, followed by the attack of what soul you’re facing.
One of the only ways to escape the intermission is to wait for an ACT button to show up somewhere on screen, usually replacing one of the attacks in a way.
Once it shows up, you have to move over it and press Z / Enter.
Doing so will result in every damageable obstacle will turn green and become collectible for health.
After that, it will return you to the normal fight until the next intermission.
The attacks and Intermissions are the first phase.
The second phase comes after the sixth Soul Intermission concludes.
First the music will change, then the fight will start with Flowey’s usual attacks being slightly slower and easier to dodge than normal.
The attacks do get quicker later in the fight.
The FIGHT button will appear a lot more common than the first phase, and hitting it will result in doing a very noticeable ammount of damage to Photoshop Flowey.
Soul Intermissions stop happening in this fight, so it can be a bit difficult to maintain your health.
Every now and then however, one of the green collectible healing items will fall from the bottom of the screen giving you a small amount of health.
Once his health reaches zero, then the final ending scene will begin. (That i won’t spoil)
Now onto the attacks.

Photoshop Flowey: Attacks

Now that the battle has begun, the first attack you are likely to see is the shuriken type bullet attack.
This attack starts pretty quickly and can be a bit overwhelming.
It consists of a barrage of projectile bullets firing from either the bottom set of eyes or the top.
The set of bullets that fire from the top fire in a triple formation directly towards you from both eyes.
The set of bullets that fire from the bottom are fired in a random spread surrounding the entire area making them more difficult to dodge unless you’re quick.
A good way to avoid getting hit by the top set of bullets is to get yourself to the bottom of the screen and try to move either left or right with the bullets slowly.
There are two small spaces you can move in while the bullets fire.
The lower set of bullets are slightly more difficult to dodge however.
Their patern is random and completely spread out.
The best thing to do about the lower set is to stay at the bottom of the screen and be swift about your movements.

The vine attack is another commonly used quick attack.
It starts by a large number of flashing lasers map out where the thorny vines are going to hit, almost full time always aiming at you.
Following barely seconds after predicting where they’re going to be shot, multiple vines shoot from the top of the screen trying to hit you.
This can happen a total of two times in a row as long as the attack doesn’t repeat.
It’s very easy to get cornered by this attack because of it’s speed.
If you’re ever trying to prepare for this attack, try to stay somewhere near the middle or a bit to the sides.

The flamethrower attack is a slightly less difficult attack to dodge.
It starts with a flamethrower appearing from the left side of the screen near the large cactus like appendage, firing from the bottom left of the screen to the right.
immediately after that a second flamethrower appears repeats the same pattern, but on the right side of the screen, and then again on the left.
They will fire in this order- Left, Right, Left.
The best way to avoid this attack is to move right to avoid the fire of the first one, and then left when the second one spawns, and then right once more.
As with a couple other attacks, this attack can come out of nowhere when you least expect it.

This attack starts with 3 flashing circles spawning around you in a sequence.
Similar to the vine attack, the circle that spawns is there to map out where the attack will happen.
After the circle outlines spawn, seeds will line up and close in on the center of the target. If you’re able to maneuver away from the three circles shortly after they spawn and before the bullets appear, you should be fine.

The flowey bomb attack starts with a large ammount of nuke shaped bombs dropping from the ceiling at a rapid pace.
Once they land they will explode resulting in a small eruption of fire on impact where the bomb dropped.
Though the bombs don’t explode on contact with you, they still cause a bit of damage if they hit you.
If you do manage to dodge the bombs while they fall, you still have to watch for the tall blast radius they leave.
There is a safe zone to stay in while this attack happens, you won’t have to worry about the explosions to affect you but you’ll still have to dodge the dropping bombs.

This attack starts with three spiny cactus-like worm creatures spawning towards the top of the screen.
After they spawn, they will begin to fly around the room bouncing off the walls and doing damage on contact.
This attack can really throw you off with how random it decides to happen.
The best way to avoid this attack is to stay as low as you can at the bottom of the screen to help you predict where they’re going to hit.

This isn’t an attack as much as it is a distractive move.
Half way through the battle, Flowey will begin saving your file during an attack, and loading it a second later.
This can cause a bit of disorientation because of how sudden it can happen.
It usually happens commonly during the Bullets or Vine attack.
It saves at some point either when you’re maneuvering the Bullet Attack or trying to dodge the Vine Attack.
This point in the battle takes a bit of concentration for you to be able to see and keep track of when he saves the game.
I’d suggest moving slightly slower if he starts using this move, making it easier to dodge the attacks when he loads the saves.

This attack consists of multiple hands growing from the right and left side of the screen and firing medium sized projectiles rapidly across the screen.
A good thing to note is before they fire for a second there’s a laser pointing where they’re going to shoot.
This attack is very difficult to avoid if you don’t react fast enough.
The speed and the length of this attack makes it one of the most difficult attacks to deal with later in the fight.

The Laser Attack happens a bit at random so it’s a bit harder to predict what to do when it happens.
The attack consists of the human-like face mutation below the television screen opening its mouth slightly and beginning to glow.
Very shortly after that, a laser shoots from the mouth covering a good amount of the middle of the screen, and causing damage on contact.

This attack starts with one of the two cactus-like appendages on either side of the screen growing a venus flytrap from the bottom of their hand.
After this, a large cluster of flys with appear from the side opposite to the flytrap and begin flying into it.
The best way to avoid this attack is to try to stay closer to where the flys are coming from when dodging them, as the flys close in and cluster together more the closer they get to the venus flytrap.

Photoshop Flowey: Soul Intermissions

The first soul intermission consists of an abundance of knives spinning and circling around the room in sync.
It gets slightly more difficult to dodge around the knives after the little safe pocket you’re spawned in disappears.
The best thing to do is to try to move a bit in sync with them and move through them only when you see an opportunity to.
After time, the ACT button will appear spinning in the place of a knife.
Seconds after you’re able to interact with the ACT button, every knife will turn into a green bandage and magnetize to you, healing you fully.
This soul’s attack represents the Toy Knife acquired earlier in the Ruins.

The second soul intermission consists of multiple gloves spinning in circles moving downward from the top of the screen.
As they decend, they also expand around giving less room to move around without being hit.
The best thing to do is to move into the center of the middle ring of hands as they expand, making it easier to handle the intermission entirely.
After a bit, the ACT button will appear replacing one of the hands that are spinning.
After the ACT button spawns, the hands will stop decending, making it easier for you to traverse around the screen.
Seconds after you’re able to interact with the ACT button, all the hands will turn green and give a thumbs up.
Moving through them collects them and gives you health.
This soul’s attack represents the Tough Glove acquired earlier in Snowdin.

The third soul intermission consists of your soul being put at the bottom of the screen with the whole upper space being blocked by a series of unpassable stars.
A line up of Ballet Shoes begin moving up and down rapidly each in a random order while moving left.
The only opportunity you will have to move further right to avoid being cornered, is to wait for one of the Ballet Shoes to move upward and giving you room to pass.
After a bit, the ACT button will appear replacing one of the Ballet Shoes moving up and down.
Seconds after you’re able to interact with the ACT button, All the Ballet Shoes will lift to the top of the screen and the stars that were originally stopping you from moving upward now turn into green music notes.
Collecting them will give you more health.
This soul’s attack represents the Ballet Shoes acquired earlier in Waterfall.

The fourth soul intermission consists of two lines of books on the right and left side of the screen with negative words like- sadness, murder, hatred, etc, moving between them.
Getting hit by these words will result in damage being done to you.
After a bit, the ACT button will appear replacing one of the negative words.
Seconds after you’re able to interact with the ACT button, the negative words will turn green and become positive words- hope, success, luck, etc.
Hitting them gives you health.
This soul’s attack represents the Torn Notebook acquired earlier in Waterfall.

The fifth soul intermission consists of three frying pans on the upper part of the screen flipping fire balls upward for them to fall back down towards you.
Getting hit by them as usual causes damage.
This can be the most difficult soul to deal with because of the large quantity of things you have to dodge and move around.
After a bit, the ACT button will appear replacing one of the fire balls that fall down.
Seconds after you’re able to interact with the ACT button, the balls of fire that are being tossed down to you are replaced with what seems to be green eggs.
Hitting them gives you health.
This soul’s attack represents the Frying Pan acquired earlier in Hotland.

]

The sixth and final soul intermission consists of a large gun centered in the middle of the screen firing bullets at your soul.
First 3 targets will appear rapidly one by one near your soul, followed by bullets firing from the gun at the three targeted locations.
After a bit, the ACT button will appear replacing one of the bullets that fire at you.
Seconds after you’re able to interact with the ACT button, the bullets will now turn into green flowers that heal on contact.
This soul’s attack represents the Empty Gun acquired earlier in Hotland.
