Pistol Assassin – The Space Demon Hunter

Hello everyone,

I’m sharing with you my build, the Space Demon Hunter. This build is beautifully simple to play when you just need to hit 1 button against every enemy in the game and watch it fries.

Pros: Ridiculous Damage. Ridiculous Sustain. Basically, it let you stay in Melee range even as a squishy assassin.

Cons: You only use 1 button, which destroys your mouse.

No “real” AoE. Even though you can deal with Horde semi-effectively due to how fast you are shooting, thicker Horde can be a bit troublesome if you don’t kill them fast enough.

Weapon

Main hand: Auto Pistol. Offhand: Inferno Pistol.

Full Auto on auto pistol is one of if not the highest dps skill in the game just by raw number. However, what makes it shines is that it has Assault and Fleshbane together, which provide +60% damage in total for close up fights against non-armor unit. Needless to say, its problem is when facing against armor unit. Not only do you lose Fleshbane buff but you also get a nasty -30% damage penalty against armor. That’s why we have Inferno Pistol. Melting Ray, Inferno Pistol’s 2nd skill, applies a debuff on armor units that completely remove its armor status for 2 second. It opens up for your auto pistol to shred through armor unit with a ridiculous amount of damage. Without the Armor buff, the mob actually counts as Fleshbane to activate the buff on Full Auto.

It’s not all about the damage, Full Auto deals damage by being the fastest hitting skill in the game. At 0.1 skill cd, it is the best weapon to benefit from HP on Hit rolls, Supression on Hit, and Berserker Rage skill (1% HP per crit). I have around 43-50 HP per hit so it’s 430 Hp/Sec not even counting Berserker Rage crits.

Moreover, when you start getting Relic weapons, Inferno Pistol grants your hits with the ability to apply 1 Random Vulnerability per hit. Vulnerability gives you 10% damage increase on specific type of damage per stack (Physical, Heat, Warp). A normal weapon can hit the cap at 10 Vulnerability stacks on 1 type of damage. This affix allows you to do 30 stacks of Vulnerability. Your auto pistol can apply 10 stacks per second so it needs only 3 seconds to apply 100% damage increase on every type of damage your teammates do. It’s not just helping your teammates. Open Debuff tree and you will see Demoralize which applies 3% damage vulnerability on each stack of vulnerability. Which means after 3 second of shooting you and your allies shoot for 100% more damage and the enemy takes -90% damage penalty. Quite crazy. Culling counts Vulnerability as debuff as well. I have no idea the math behind it, whether each stack is counted as separate debuff instance or 10 stacks will be counted as 1 debuff. Still, it’s a lot of critical hit strength from those vulnerability stacks.

Perk

Hazard Stimulation: Best Adrenaline regen in the game. Essential and fuel for the other 2 perks to work.

Nepherine-monger: +20% dodge whenever you have full Adrenaline, which is all the time with the help of Hazard Stimulation.

Zealous Displacement: You can use Personal Teleporter freely as long as you have Adrenaline, which you never runs out. Personal Teleporter grants you to Surprise status, which gives +30% damage +5% crit chance and +30% dodge. The effect lasts for 5 sec with 10 sec cd (50% uptime). This combine with Nepherine-monger alone gives you 50% dodge, not even counting dodge from items and other sources. In total you stay around 60-70% dodge whenever you are in Surprise.

Attributes

Survival: 5. Take Momentum +5% dodge in Surprise State

Bloodlust: 15. Take Hidden Reserve for 0.5% Hp per adrenaline point spent. You spend 30 adrenaline every 10 sec on Personal Teleportation, which translate to healing 15% of your HP every 10 second. Carnal Squeeze: 1% damage bonus per adrenaline point spent. Your Personal Teleportation costs 30 Adrenline so this is basically +30% damage every time you teleport into Surprise state.

Accuracy: Whatever is left. Squeeze for Exploitation for another 20% damage bonus in Surprise State if you can, still, it’s worse than Carnal Squeeze so it’s not a priority.

Skill build

Critical Tree: Berserker Rage. Revenge. Killing Shot. Masacre (Even though you are using gun, you have so much sustain so you can actually stand in melee range of most fights).

Debuff Tree: Culling. Demoralize. Take this when you start getting your Relic Inferno Pistol. Literarily turns you into a monster.

Physical Attack: Take everything aside from Arterial Wounding. Everything else works perfectly to buff your Full Auto damage. Skills also help applying slow and help stack Vulnerability a tad faster during critical hits.

Support tree: Master Ambusher for extra 10% damage bonus during Surprise. Invigorating Faith for another 15% hp every 30 second from spamming Personal Teleporter.

Ranged Combat: Ammo Mastery. You need the faster reload to get back to shoot. The extra 10% to slowed target from prerequisite points are good as well.

Hit Point: I’m kinda bored since we do so much damage with the basic setup, thus I dumped all points to get extra survivability. Vascular Pumps: You dodge a lot, close to 70% dodge late game from this build. So you generate a crap tons of Surpression points just from that. Regenerative Bionics. Pain Surpression: You heal a tons from HP per hit and Hp on crit. This helps you stay in the green longer. Field Surgery: It’s the most OP skill. Take it. Enhanced Organ: Since you went this far, take it. Most of your skills heal based on %HP so having higher HP and Surpression helps a lot.

Single DPS tree: Ocular Implant. 2 extra points I put in Blood Focus and Warp Adaptation. You have better skills on Puritan Path but these 2 skills are the best in Radical tree.

Items

Get HP on Hit for as many items as you can. It’s broken for running alongside with Auto Pistol. Next important stat is -cd on Full Auto. Yes. You heard it right. You can roll -cd on Full Auto. It’s just the best damage roll and works beautifully with HP per hit/HP per crit.

Get extra Vulnerability Effect on roll. I have no idea how the math works but it can go to +20% Vulnerability Effect per item.

Damage/Crit Chance/Crit Str. Really, whatever floats your boats.
