Hello Steam Community,I would like to share something that I have noticed to be a not very known tactic/secret. We all love our planet to space weapons in Galactic Conquest for amazing defenses. For that we have the following;- Hypervelocity Gun (Empire)- Ion Canon (Rebellion)(The Zann Consortium uses a Plasma Canon but it is not planet to space, it is fired from the space station and its abilities are not relevant as it doesn’t work the way this does)During Galactic Conquest game-play we are able to defend our planets with planet to space weapons. At the very START of the space battle just as the game-play clip finishes bringing you to see the defense fleet/space station QUICKLY select the Hypervelocity Gun/Ion Canon. Then scroll over to the opposite end of the map where the mini-map would’ve shown quick blips for the enemy fleet for frigates and smaller class ships but capitals will remain on radar. Then as you drag the cursor over the area in fog of war the ships as you would normally target you notice you can target them immediately in the fog of war and in some cases destroy them (Hypervelocity Gun only) if it is a frigate size ship or corvettes. I recommend taking the first shot on the capital ship as frigates/corvettes can elude the shot if moving fast enough. This way you can get another shot off to the capital to pretty much red-line the health bar prior to it reaching your defenses. Continue to target the other capitals then focus you defenses on the support ships. Then here on out it’s easy work and good hunting. Simply hit the remainder of the frigates one by one until you win. Definitely recommend this if playing on medium/hard AI as the shields are a pain to drain on capital ships. Now back to the Zann Consortium. I recommend using the plasma canon on Missile Frigates FIRST as they can destroy you fighter and bomber craft instantly and drain your space stations shield drastically reducing your defenses for enemy Capital Ships. SECOND, the Sundred Heart (Corvette of Captain Antilles – Rebellion) and other corvettes. Try to time it where you get fighter/bomber craft close by enemy corvettes and the canon will destroy them with the corvette. Also damages surrounding frigates sometimes severely if in close proximity. Please, like and comment what you think! This applies to most mods as well.
