Overview
This guide shows you how to play the Portal 2 multiplayer mode with up to 32 players!
What is this mod?
This mod aims to get 32 players inside of a single multiplayer match in Portal 2. We are developing an easy-to-use GUI that anyone can use to accomplish this seamlessly.
At this point in time, we are using VScript to add extra functionality to our mod, like custom player colors, HUD indicators, and more!
We might change to Chaos Script when Portal 2: Community Edition comes out.
Mod Versions…
On full release, we plan to have two versions of the mod:

- 1. P2MP32 Lite
This version is all server-side and includes a custom batch file called MultiplayerMod.cmd, which serves as an easy way to start the mod.
This means that the person who is starting/hosting the server is the only one who needs to have the mod installed.

1. Download the Portal.2.32.Player.Mod.Lite.zip file from the GitHub link above.
2. Go to Steam and find Portal 2 in your games library.
3. At the left side, right click “Portal 2”, click on “Manage”, and then click on “Browse local files”.
4. Drop the files inside the Portal.2.32.Player.Mod.Lite.zip you downloaded into your portal 2 game folder

In order for this mod to function with online players, make sure you have “27015” port forwarded on your router.
1. Open the location where you dragged the MP mod files into. (steamapps/common/Portal 2)
2. Open MultiplayerModGUI.exe
WARNING: You may get a antivirus pop up when opening MultiplayerModGUI.exe
This is due to a “Low trust factor” in windows defender we get “trust factor” by having
people run the executable file. TLDR: click show more and then click run anyway if you don’t feel safe all the code is open source so feel free to read it (if you still do not feel safe with this join the discord and we can give you a batch file instead)
3. Follow the instructions in MultiplayerModGUI.exe

1. Launch Portal 2
2. While at the main menu, click on “Options”.
3. Next, click on “Keyboard/Mouse”.
4. Toggle the setting, “Allow Developer Console”, to be “Enabled”.
5. By default, the tilde key “~” located to the left of the “1” key on U.S. keyboards is bound to open the developer console. (This can be changed in the in-game settings).

Make sure you have the developer console enabled. If not, follow the written instructions.
1. Launch Portal 2.
2. Open the developer console.
3. Type “connect youfreindsiphere” replace “yourfreindsiphere” with your friend’s ip address.
- The game host should see their IP in the MultiplayerModGUI.exe when they opened it.
4. Press [ENTER]
