Black Screen while playing
In some systems, you might encounter a black screen with the music playing normally and the character interacting with it’s surroundings. This is usually caused by a faulty or incompatible graphics card.
There are two types of black screen. The first type is easily fixed by opening a console and typing the following command:
mat_postproccess_enable 0
The gameplay will be a little glitchy, but you will at least see your surroundings.
The second type is a little more difficult to fix or even not fixable at all. You won’t see anything, only the menu screen and even the graphics on the loading screen won’t be showing at all:
This error is usually accompanied with errors relating invalid colors and directx errors, so the only thing you can do is update your DirectX installation (if it works).
The game is simply LAG. I can’t play anything.
This error is usually accompanied with the black screen error, because black screen means slow or unsupported system. However, if you experience lag and you don’t have black screen issues, you might want to try setting everything to LOW. In case that fails, perform the steps described in [link] .
Cheats and console commands won’t work in co-op mode! What can I do?
Well, no console command will work in co-op mode unless you type in the following command:
sv_cheats 1
Note that after enabling this option you won’t be able to earn any achievement nor get a position on the leaderboards, so be careful.
How can I load modded maps?
To load mods (not PeTI maps), you have to enter the following command
map [mapname]
Where [mapname] is your map’s name.
The game’s textures are green, yellow or not showing at all.
Try disabling Multicore Rendering.
