Overview
This is my speed clearing mission setup I am currently using on my Psyker. It is based of Derksuh’s witchfire build with a lot of changes to the builds perks and powers used.
Intro
I was using the Witchfire build originally made by Derksuh but I found that his build felt a little slow for my taiste and needed a little tweeking, so I decided to come up with my own version.
With this build you can clear most “Red” missions in under 3 minutes. There is a short video of a speed run I made at the bottom of the guide where I ran it in under two and half minutes.
Using two Warp rods we can barrel through missions dropping Witchfire nukes on groups of enemys and clean up the mess with the warp rods primary, but smaller AoE attack, and our firey form will pretty much mop up any trash mob that gets within melee range.
now on to the good stuff.
Perks
Psychic Boon: doubles effective “up time” of all your buffs
Anointment: +10% damage buff for each active buff
Important :You need to be the Aetherwalker subclass in order to have access to this perk. It is the starting perk for this particlar subclass
Force Weapon Mastery: Stacking +15% (150% at 10 stacks) damage buff on rod attacks
Powers
Warp Speed: with move speed, damage, and duration modifications
Misfortune: with move speed, damage, and duration modifications
Devine shot: with move speed, damage, and duration modifications
Firey Form: with move speed, damage, and duration modifications
This skill is usefull in speed running builds because it pretty much takes care of the trash mobs for you as you run through them. Save the Witchfire blasts for the elites and bosses, (or extra large packs of trash/horde mobs), and let the fire wall burn em to a crisp as you walk over their smoldering corps’s
With our perks and skill trees, this spell setup gives us a total of roughly about 380% damage bonus (not including any bonus stats on your gear). Buffs which all have 100% “up time”, and a 40% run speed boost.
-90 seconds up time on Warp Speed, Misfortune, and Devine shot, with a 60 second cooldown
-30 seconds up time on Firey Form with a 20 second cooldown.
Using all 4 buffs should put your warp heat in the orange (barely below the green threshold for me, but I have a lot of warp heat boosts on my gear) but it is easy to clear any built up warp heat with a single witchfire attack (each target hit reduces warp heat by 5). so by the time you need to rebuff yourself warp heat should be a non issue.
Skill tree’s
AoE skill tree gives us lots of extra AoE damage, AoE size, and the center skill in the tree gives us a 4% cooldown reduction on hits, and an 8% cooldown reduction on kills. Witchfire only has a 6 second cooldown but with this skill tree maxed out we get almost no cooldown on witchfire (if you hit or kill enough in one shot).
The Crit tree doesnt need much explanation, more crits = more burst DPS output.
Witchfire is a fire based attack, so this tree is good for increasing its base damage ( also the damage of our Firey Form). Not a whole lot of extra DPS to be had here so you could sub this tree out for something like movement if you wanted to.
This tree is extreamly important, the center skill gives us a flat 20% damage boost to all weapon attacks, as well as all the required modifications to the spells for movement speed, up time, and damage boosts.
Summary
Ok so now that you have seen how to build it, let me sum it up for you!
With skills, perks, buffs, and a decent set of Relic quality gear you are running through missions with a 40% run speed buff, and dishing out somewhere in the neighborhood of +500% spammable weapon damage in AoE room clearing attacks. That being said, be careful about going too crazy, its easy to get yourself in a little too deep with a Psyker, because they are super squishy (read: no armor), and you can die very easily to overwhelming fire. Keep an eye on your buff timers so they dont expire, and have fun bulldozing your way through “Red” missions!
Videos
Here is a quick video of this build in action, running a “Red” mission in under 2.5 minutes
the video quality is a bit lacking and super jittery, but the game itself runs smooth as silk for me through all that chaos. I used the basic windows capture software which kinda sucks but it gets the idea accrost.
