Awesomenauts – the 2D moba Guide

Raelynn Over leveling guide. for Awesomenauts

Raelynn Over leveling guide.

Overview

The main aim of this guide is overleveling your opponents. It uses a range of solar items and a clever amount of farming to quickly get the edge on your enemies early into the game. Youll find that you seem to have higher damage, life and ability to take control of batlles.

Introduction

As stated at the start, the main aim of this guide is to play raelynn at a type of snowball effect where from your first kill you just power level way faster than anyone else in the game.
This build works really well in both team games and solo queing. Good Luck!

Build

Ok first things first is the build, thats what everyone wants to know. So here it is.

However there are some variables in the build that you can change depending on your situation.
An example of this would be if your playing against an : Ayla, Froggy, Vinnie or Foxy then you may want to get the slow earlier in the build after getting your boots and Heal over Time.
As well as this if your game is going well on the pushing side of things you may also want to get the T-800 Dome (droid spawn) to help you push quicker.

Early Game

Money
At the very start of the game the first thing that your going to want to do is buy the Solar tree, Monkey hand and the snipe and then walk around for 30 or so seconds to get 120 solar, then go back to get yourself the solar glasses.

With these upgrades you will be able to easily farm solar by killing as many droids as you can and getting as many kills as you can as with the each kill you should get about 113 solar in contrast to the normal 60 solar per kill (That’s the equivilent of a “Piggy Bank” each time you get a kill!).

From here you want to repeat this but make sure that you keep safety as your first priority and if your solo queing or if your team will let you GET AS MANY KILLS AS YOU CAN (including killsteals)
Despite the fact that your team may get annoyed by you getting all the kills you will be leveling much faster and your teams overall solar gain would be much higher than if anyone else were to get the kills.

Damage
If possible you should stay out fighting while keeping yourself safe untill you reach level 7 (600 solar). Then as soon as you get to that point unless your team really needs you then you should teleport right back to your base and buy the three of the pump rifle (damage).

With this you will easily kill enemy nauts if you are in the right place at the right time as you should have already started to over level them. Once your able i reccommend getting the range boosters so that you are able to kill enemy nauts easier while keeping your distance and safety.

Mid-Game

Speed
From here you proably already have all the items required for you to get kills easily without putting yourself at much risk, but just to be safe i suggest that you buy the Boots which will make it easy for you to escape fast attackers like ayla, coco and leon. Also it will also make you more capaple of getting across the map quickly so you can assist in team fights and single out the opposition.

Health
After you have the boots its time to buy the health upgrades for more survivability mainly to keep you fighting longer but also to make sure you dont die if you make a small mistake.
Personally i prefere to have the MED-I-CAN (health over time) but alot of people may prefere to have the overall health upgrade.
There are pros and cons to both.

HoT Pros
Less need to teleport back.
Cheap.
Because your raelynn when you are out of sight. (Behind a Turret or in a bush) your health should raise quickly.

Health upgrade Pros
More bulky= Takes longer for them to kill you.
More immune to big attacks e.g coco’s ball or spike dive.

As I said i prefere the health over time because i spend alot of time out of the way of the enemy team and i try to not get hit by skill shots (Boots make this easier).

End-Mid Game

Rift
At this point in the game their is one specific thing that you should do, and that is to buy the time rift and droid spawner. These upgrades should make it easier for you to escape people like leon and stop slow characters like Derpl. The droid spawner that you will also buy should help your team with pushing and make it so your able to solo push turrets slowly or quickly if you have some land droids aswell.

From here you decide for yourself how you want to play your end game.
You have two decisions.
1.Upgrade your gun and improve your pushing power.
2.Upgrade your time rift and make it easier to beat people in player vs player combat and support your team.

You should do one of these then the other.
Depending on your choice you should look at each option so you can look at them more in depth.

THE END GAME!

Option 1: Gun

Ok the first upgrade here to improve your pushing capabilities would be to buy the “Unknown Alien Hand” This upgrade lets your blaster pass throulgh enemies. Meaning that you essentially do overall double the dps (Damage per second) when attacking multiple droids or enemies at a time.

After buying the Alien hamd you are going to want to buy either the 3X skull Bracelet or if you want the Receding Ponytail. (Personally i like the Skull Bracelet lately because i find myself changing my order while playin apon occasion and even though the ponytail is cheaper it dosnt make too much of a different due to the fact that you are overleveling by so much.

With these upgrades pushing will become much easier, TURRETS WILL FALL BEFORE YOUR MIGHT!!!, DOIDS AND PLAYERS ALIKE WILL TREMBLE IN FEAR BEFORE YOUR +3 DAMAGE BLASTER!!!. (maybe i got a bit carried away.)

(After buying each of these finish with option 2.)

Option 2: Time Rift

I reccomend going for this if your pushing is already going well and you want to help your team more with combat or you want to just be better at soloing pvp in general.

I like to buy the 2X Height on your time rift this is very helpfull with dealing with the sky characters like yuri, vinnie, and ayla. This is also useful when fighting against multiple people due to you now having the ability to effect a larger area with your slow.

Now get the increase slowing power on your time rift and buy the upgrade twice. The main purposes of this consist of slowing down powerful attacks like coco’s ball and Lonestars Bull. Another benefit of this is that if people get stuck in this they are basically dead because now they are trapped, taking damage and open for your deadly snipe to destroy them,

(If choosed this one first go back to option 1)

Heres one i made earlier.

Team Building Advice.

Team 1
My personal favorite tam is one that i do with my team and wel like to call it “Anchor Wankor”
It can consist of:

Swiggins
Raelynn
Coco/Vinnie/Lonestar

This team can be very powerful and the usual stratergy is for the the swiggins to do the usual Anchor and hook moves then while the enemy is hooked both of the other players use both of their skill shots on that single enemy to kill them instantly. Notice how each of the characters are fast, this is deliberate so we are able to be very moble when initiating an attack.

My friend should be making a swiggins guide at somepoint soon which works well for the “Anchor Wankor” build.

Team 2

This team is built around pushing as quick as you can.

Raelynn
Leon
Coco (turret damage), Lonestar (blaster build), Foxy (claw)

Team 3

USing this team you should have steady pushing capabilities while keeping your team rather bulky and somewhat indestructable if you play it right.

Voltar
Raelynn,Coco
(Insert tank character here)

The main goal behind this is for your team to steadily push on one lane while voltar is healing preferably with the push upgrade to keep away enemies but its not required while raelynn picks off any enemies that try to stop you from pushing.

Works well with:

Clunk
Derpl
Swiggins
Coco
Penny Fox
Gnaw
Vinnie
Lonestar (Gun Build)
Skolldir
Genji

Dosn’t work very well with:

Ayla
Ted
Froggy G
Yuri

Tips

Make sure enemies are at a safe distance before fireing.

When fighting characters like froggy G or leon don’t fire at them unless you know that their stun move is on cooldown as this will stop your snipe and leave you vunerable.

When sniping you can press the button again after you hear the beep to fire quicker.

Alot of people like to aim the snipe at the ground so that your enemy dosn’t see it but then when your able to fire quickly aim it at them. (This makes it so they don’t have as much time to react to your laser, but i only reccommend doing this if you are confident with your sniping.)

If you are fighting a slow character the timerift on their face will stop them completely and leave them open to get ganked.

You can use the droid spawner to solo turrets if they arnet very well guarded.
