Rake Survival Guide (Updated)

Overview

A guide on surviving and tracking the rake.

Basic Controls

Accessing Backpack: I = Look In Backpack

Take Out Equipment (You Must Find And Take The Equipment First!): 1 = Take Out Weapon M = Take Out Map B = Take Out Binoculars V = Take Out Feed C = Take Out Camera

Movement (For Those Who Dont know Movement Controls Somehow): W = Forward A = Left D = Right S = Backwards

New Game

You have just spawned in your Trailer, You want to first grab everything you can aka: Your rifle, Your Ammo, Camera’s, Medkits, And A Map. Your ammo ammount should be 32, if its not 32 check around the trailer more for ammo.

Camera Placement.

First things first lets get to placing the camera’s. You may only have five cameras deployed at a time. First deploy a camera at the two closet tree’s you may place a camera on. The green marked spots on my map are the camera locations you should ALWAYS place a camera at. Place your remaining 3 camera’s where you please, for those curious of my camera lay out I will provide a photo. My fifth camera is on a pig.

Pig camera placement.

Pig cameras may be very useful at times as it is a patrolling camera. You may ask how do I place a camera on a pig, well first head to a tent near your trailer it should look like this. Enter the tent and you should see some bags pick them up Then you should go out of the tent and see a iron cage trap, place some of the feed into the cage and go into the trailer and wait a minute or two. A pig should end up wandering in. Once a pig wanders in you should be able to place a camera tho you may need to rotate around the cage as its a little tricky.

Bear Traps And Their Location

Bear traps are really useful in this game as they may injure the rake making it slightly easier to kill it. They are at a mossy green building far in the forest. Keep your guard up while near it the rake may attack tho its rare. Just get in and get out make sure you take all five bear traps.

A good place for your bear traps is around your three Trailer Windows, Here are three photos showing the exact location. To access Bear Traps Press I then click on them to equip.

Rake Attacks And Tactics

Before we get into the night lets discuss the attacks the rake may do. First the rake is able to attack you in your Trailer. Next the rake can hide in Trees and leap down on you. Also the rake commonly is able to sneak up on you, so always check your back, as the rake may be anywheres.

If you remain in your trailer, the rake will commonly only show up around your rake on night three, due to the rake getting more and more aggressive to the player as nights go on.

First Night

Your first night you should see little to no rake activity if you place all your camera’s like me, and remain in your trailer. If you go flat out hunting you may encounter the rake way out in the forest. The rake might destroy a camera or two on your first night aswell.

The Next Day

The next day you may go out to replace your camera’s well be careful the rake may be ready to leap down on you from the tree where the camera was. The best thing to do is just place the camera’s as fast as you can and book it back to your trailer, Also watch out for your bear traps dont step on them.

Second Night

On your next night you will have a more likely chance for the rake to destroy your camera’s and appear by your trailer tho the trailer part is still unlikely. Just be careful and do what you did the first night, weather you sat at your trailer or hunted just do the same routine.

Final Day

Your final day in this god forsaken forest, When you go outside you should see lots of dead pigs be quick on replacing your camera’s keep your guard up get back to the trailer asap.

Third Night

This is your final night, on your first few minutes the rake should appear right at your camp. The rake will keep trying to attack you from the windows keep an eye on it and pray it does not destroy your camp camera’s. Whenever you are ready to exit your trailer and engage and hope you shoot it first before it hits you. Or be scared and hide until the night passes, tho it may result in a loss atleast you survived right?
